Of course the company has overhead costs and he only receives part of his own earnings. In the past Didi didn’t receive share of the company’s profits (not in his contract and the profits are mostly from his earnings). The shares were only implemented last year to retain him. His company relies on Dylan to attract work for other actors in the agency (MY is useless)!
All along Dylan has always been able to make decision on which role he takes because his agency didn’t help and pretty much ignored him after MG (especially after Angie Chai left the company). In fact they did not promote him after MG in China, but took him Southeast Asia to promote MG (it was a hit outside of China). He has sought out and gotten his roles from auditions (YITFOW) + word-of-mouth recommendations/offers because of his performance and good relationships with the network and people in the industry (EN2, MTD, TRL, LBFAD, OFL, NGU, his movie, and GOTD). This is not the first time Dylan agreed to risky shoots, but the ‘no security’ is something both the crew and his agency need to address and spend money on! The attitude of the crew can be seen already and his company is calm and silent. All issues can be resolved with money but his company always ignored. His fans act as third party to monitor.

Yes that’s right his agency is useless and did not protect him all these years. I think he has 2 more yrs with them. He was a teenager when he signed w/ MY in 2017. At the time the CEO was Tawainese Angie Chai (produced Meteor Garden). However, Mengyang was a startup agency w/ no experience or connection. Basically she created and signed Didi, and a few MG crew to her new agency. I read somewhere it’s a 10 yr contract. Dylan only gets a very small share of his earnings & overworked. Beginning of last year, netizen discovered Mengyang already gave him 29% of share in fear that he leaves (not sure about dividends or voting rights. This is just basically him getting more share of his own earnings). Some of us think he will likely stay w/ his agency because of his loyalty.
Didi is very dedicated & always does his own stunts. As you may have seen from the reuters, Didi was filming up (around 13 stories high) on a real cliff and real scenes. It was blatantly unsafe yet Mengyang once again neglected to protect him by ensuring that the production crew had adequate safety measures in place. It’s pretty cool. The concept director has worked with Didi before, in fact this is their 3rd collaboration. 😄Both the concept film + poster are from the same company and got a lot of praises. It’s so oustanding that we hear crickets from the black marketing accounts because they are secretly admiring. 😜😎 It has the classic HK TVB martial arts vibe. I hope the drama director can let Didi’s, who has extensive film watching, creativity flow and add valuable input.
Looking forward to WD playing WZY (and thank goodness it’s not Wu). 🤧 😌 I have a feeling Guo Yun Qi might be Ziye. It’s said that the complexity of WZY requires the actor to possess both the adaptability in appearance of a fairy hero (Xianxia genre) and precise control of internal emotions. WD is pretty much known for portraying multifaceted roles (Bloody Romance / Ying-Yang Master). Also he is frenemy with SQJ, so that will be fun.😄
He will promote LL&P at Mango’s investment conference in the afternoon tomorrow 5.15 (and possibly announce a new variety show). It’s said he will return ✈️to Hengdian (Ningbo) in the late evening.
