Someone posted LQ arrived to Hengdian the day before the script reading. She was spotted yesterday. It seems age is not a concern. The production team must have their reasons for choosing them. LQ is older than WD and rumored to play Miao Yan fairy. They still look young and beautiful. Having a memorable role is much important as an actor, so even LQ, who can bag first billing, is taking a support role. I can see WD in either role…Complex characters are his forte and will showcase his talent, but I can also see him play a cool older brother too. Wei is not a villain according to the character chart. It feels more like a brotherhood.

I’ve only read a brief summary of the characters. Some are saying his age and personal temperament does not quite match Wei's. They are a group of friends and Wei is suppose to be younger than the ML. Ziye Wenshu has a cold appearance and is more mature than the other male roles. Wei starts off carefree and unrestrained. In fact, Wei is said to be a complex character and will evolve or transform. Some are saying the age doesn’t matter.
This reminds me, Caesar Wu was also spotted in Hengdeng yesterday and now book fans strongly oppose him playing Ziye Wenshu (guessing because there isn’t anyone rumored for this role).😄
