About the homophobia, I was afraid the curtain scene was gonna be a big setback for both Pat and Pran since they hadn’t come out but the only thing they did care about was the rivalry and resultant opposition. For a show that doesn’t miss such details and is high on emotionality, them being pretty alright mentally makes me believe that they really weren’t afraid of the coming out per se but the family/ friends situation. Ain’t that homophobia doesn’t exist in their world, it’s just not treated as something significant (as you said) and that’s why holding Wai accountable for the ‘outing’ seems a bit off, which was my point
