Article Oppa, Gege, P' - Brother Or Something Else?
From my understanding of these three cultures,one thing is for sure, these words are used for males who are a few years older than you. In thai the work P is gender neutral. The older males can be your brother, a cousin, a family friend, a senior at school or your own boyfriend/husband.

Oppa and Gege are more informal whereas P is very formal.
In Indian context,Bhai or Bhaiyya purely means a brother or a person who is like a brother to you. It can be addresses to a random stranger if you need his help and you dont know his name. You will never call a potential BF or a romantic interest as Bhaiyya. So I understand why many ppl from India or Europe can take a while to get used to these three terms..
