Epic Last 4 Episodes
Overall this is a really good show and very enjoyable. The reason I am not giving it a 10 is b/c for me there was just way too many flashback episodes. I get that they wanted to give every main characters back story but it it just dragged on too long. It is an actioin drama with deptrh though. The other reason it's not getting a 10 is b/c sometimes this show did the stupidest things. In episode 14 they could have got the little boy out of the sewer by having Jaemin rip the grate out of the wall but no they had to show them punching through a wall. They also did this when Juwon was trying to get to Ji hee in the prior episode. There were some genuinely sad and emotional scenes and for me the one at the beginning of the last episode just had me bawling. When Jaeseok the NK guy with the earthquake/sonic boom powers dies. In that moment when he told Yongdeuk to go and live like a human the tears just started falling!! That shit broke me.
What the writer(s) did very well is giving us these not so easy, black and white issues of who is wrong and who is right. I mean I felt just as empathetic to the North Koreans as I did to our heroes or "the good guys". It was bad situation for everyone all around.
This is an excellent ensemble drama and the cast is amazing.

I would have rated this show a 6 overall but the last 2 episodes specifically killed the vibe for me. My rating is still really higher than it should be which is a 3 but I'm giving it a 5 b/c of the 2 leads. The show literally went from a light, fun and romantic dramedy to every bad trope known to Kdramas the world over in the last few episodes.I was enjoying this for the most part b/c I wanted light and fluffy and just romance. And the leads delivered that to a T. Jang Ki Yong and Ahn Eun Jin were truly chef's kiss together. But the show was already messy b/c it was all built on lies but I gave all that a pass again b/c the leads are worth watching.
But then we got makjang Chaebol fuckery and nonsense, martrydom and amnesia in the last 2 episode and what for?? To rush through the ending just to get the leads back to Jeju and still rush thru the end with 1 year later, 3 years later and "some years later" BS!! WTAF???
Note to writers: Be better. Stop writing about bad parents and chaebols heirs that hate each other or one illegitimate heir that hates the other sibling. My GOODNESS!!! Stop making one side love triangles only to have secondary couples end up together anyway.
Also, people can complain about western and global influence on kdramas all they want but the kinds of foolishness that happened in this series is all old school kdrama nonsense.

So Meh!!
The summary of this show was right up my alley. The story of a misunderstanding wherein hijinks ensue but alas it was not the case or I misinterpreted, whatever...Like a lot of people I watched because of Lee Min-ho but this is his worst role to date from the ones that I have seen. I felt like he was just going thru the motions. If sighing could be personified, Lee Min-Ho's sighs should have been paid. I felt like he did more sighing that dialogue!!!! This was the firts show I watched staring Son Ye Jin and she was good as Gae In but the character is so annoying and unbelievably naïve. I'll have to look at her back catalog.
There is so much to unpack plotwise but here is the basics: The story centers on Jin Ho pretending to be gay to get inside Gae In's house b/c it is the inspiration for a new architectural project. This project pits Jin Ho nd Chang Ryul at odds. Chung Ryul used to date Gae In but he broke her heart when he cheated on her with her one of her bestfriends and LIVE-IN roommate, In Hee who he also planned to marry without saying a word. Jin Ho moves in with Gae in and he helps her get over Chang Ryul while falling for her but he is the biggest jerk on the planet most days and Gae In behaves like a child most days. We are supposed to root for these two but the relationship is so tiresome.
The things I liked about the show were the character of Director Choi (played fantastically by Ryu Seung Ryong) and Yoeng Seon, Gae In's other bestfriend. Practically every other character got on my nerves to no end especially, Yun Sup the father of Chang Ryul so terrible and irritating. I couldn't watch this again if you paid me.

****SPOILERS ABOUND****DO NOT CONTINUE TO READ****IF YOU DO NOT LKE SPOILERS****I liked this series a lot. I thought the political intrigue and tension building were all well done. So many people with secrets, greed and desires. Greed leads to death and destruction of everyone.
Yeol Guk lived his entire life trying to get out from under the thumb of a wife he never loved but who still held all the power of his station in life. Min Yeon Ui married a man she didn't love b/c her father knew he would at least keep the family in a goods position but he was smart enough to make sure his daughter never worried about control of the assets. She despised her husband b/c of his multiple mistresses and treats his daughter mercilessly. Blaming her for her missing son Hongrang. Mu Jin, the adopted son who has everything except the one thing he really wants. Just a pawn in Yeol Guk's game to crush his wife. Truly sympathetic character. As was Jae I. Her father never cared for her one iota. His crazy wife brutalized her and he did nothing. She just wanted her brother Hongrang to come home. Kkot Nim planned a masterful revenge for 10 years after her lover Yeol Guk tried to kill her and killed their unborn child all those year ago. She used the disappearance of her hated rivals son to exact her ultimate revenge and bring them all down. Tragedies all around.
The acting/cast was phenomenal and I was glad that we got the true story about Hongrang . I was also glad that Yeol Guk and the Prince got what they deserved in the end.
I also, LMAO at one scene with the Prince and Hongrang that should not have been as comical as it was. If you watch you will understand.

I thoroughly enjoyed this series and I really do hope we get a season 2. I'd love to see Hobi explore other, unfamiliar dance genres. I loved that Hobi got to go back and we really did get to see his roots in dance in this series. Neuron was great and I'm glad that they were happy to see him and had such great memories and time with him. Loved seeing the old pics of Hobi too. What the series did really well is let the featured dancers do their thing and talk about why they dance. I found it all fascinating.
These were featured dancers in this series:
Ep 1: Bungaloo Kin - Travel Companion and old friend. Loved them traveling together and dancing together.
Ep 2: Gucchon - Osaka
Ep 3: Lock Woong - Seoul
Ep 4: Yugson - Paris
Ep 5: Link - New York
Ep 6: Neuron- Daek2, DXNG WXX, AD Bomb and Mishka - Gwangju - Where Hobi spent his time learning to dance and following his dreams.

The Cast is the Best Thing About This Show
I preface this by saying I have not seen the original series and have no plans to do so.Disappointing!
I really liked the 1st and 2nd epsiodes of the show and I actually thought the show was going somewhere but by the 3rd episode the show became competely ridiculous.
This show is honestly, terrible.
It's supposed to be a crime caper but it's poorly written and makes no sense logically. I can usually suspend belief but this show is doing too much. So many plot holes and cliches. Even with the excellent cast I just can't deal with the stupidity of many of the characters and nonsensical actions by the entire thieves organization, including but not limited to not counting hostages, not having some one watching the live feed, letting hostages roam around freely, not fully searching areas, and letting certain hostages live...shall I go on??? WTF was I watching?
Again I throughly enjoyed most of the cast, but especially, Jeon Jong Seo as Tokyo and Park Hae Soo as Berlin.
I don't think I will be watching part 2.

"The Cop" is Super Annoying
This movie is entertaining thanks to the acting. "The Gangster" Ma Dong Soek is fantastic as usual and the actor playing "The Devil" Kim Sung Gyu is brilliant. I havent seen him in anything else but I will. There really are just evil people in the world. Kinda wished they would have given a little more background on the killer's motivations other than the standard abused as a child scenario. I thought they showed he might have been married but then didn't expound on that. "The Cop" was super annoyng and really got on my nerves from the moment he stepped on the screen. This is overall an enjoyable film and the ending was perfection!

Eye rollingly bad!!
This is absolutley, one of the worst if not the worst Kdrama's I have ever watched. The FL Ji Eun unlikeable and rude. The Joseph character behaved like an insolent 5 year old the entire series. The Shim Do Young character is completely unnecessary. Everything about the character is so random and nonsensical. I have never watched a show where the majority of the mains are unlikeable. The main characters are the most vapid 30 somethings that I have seen in a long time and maybe that was the point but there was no character development for anyone except Ye Seon Ho and barely.I started watching b/c of Minho and he's so bland and boring here. Also, something about his makeup was off putting. I actually would have preferred the FL staying with her boyfriend from the begining of the series even though she ********SPOILER ALERT***** (it's not really important to the story though) cheated on him.
This was 8 epsiodes that I thought would be a fun and cute binge watch but it was so disappointing!

Another Gem of a Movie
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It's a wonderful story about a flower shop owner who is just good to everyone. The title "Mellow" really does say it all. This was a very comforting watch.Lead actor, Tanaka Kei is great as is the rest of the cast including the young actress, Shiratori Tamaki who plays the main character, Natsume's precocious niece, Saho. There are some great scenes between them including a moment when they are delivering flowers and Natsume says, "It sucks to be a grownup. Just inconvenient." and Saho says to him "but it can't be helped, can it?"; just brilliant.
********Spoiler Alert*********** I'm sorry but I have to write about this scene b/c it was WILD!!
Natsume delivers flowers to a regular customer who falls in, love with him. She tells her husband she wants a divorce b/c she loves Natsume; not knowing Natsume's feelings at all. The wife and the husband confront Natsume with this information and his face was my face when they proceed to tell him this. Natsume is shooketh and (who wouldn't be) says it's weird that they told him this together and honestly even told him at all. When he tells the wife he doesn't have any feelings for her the husband gets upset and puts him out of their house... WHAT??? it's actually a great and humorous scene.
Anyway, watch for a great, mellow, heartwarming movie full of love and understanding.

Disappointing
Another series that is disappointing and stupid especially in the last few eps.I was enjoying the show for the most part b/c the story was interesting to me. It's not my typical genre, but I thought the synopsis was good. The series ended up being nothing like I thought the synopsis would be. What I wanted was a love story between a demon and human but what I got was a story about bickering chaebols; one of which was extremely awful who brutalized ***********. Also, got some past life story that was completely unnecessary.
What I did like was the cast; Very good and I like Kim You Jung and this was my first series with Song Kang. I like him in this plus anyone who reads my reviews know pretty boys are my jam. I thought he and the FL looked great togther. I loved the character of Ms. Shin. Actress Seo Jung Yeon nailed the role as FL secretary.
The only character I sympathized with was Noh Do Kyung. The character broke my heart. Actor Kang Seung Ho was brilliant as someone slowly losing his mind and being tormented by someone who should have loved him.

Trolled by a Drama
*****SPOILER ALERT WITHIN****** DO NOT READ IF YOU GET UPSET BY SPOILERS*******We all literally got trolled. What could have been one of the best series of 2024 is one of the absolute worst KDramas EVER!.
*Mostly Excellent Cast - Check; *Excellent Story Idea - Check; *Excellent Setting - Check
So what the hell went wrong? EVERYTHING!! Script, editing, directing, casting of FL.
This series is not even so bad it's good it's just bad. The FL being a newbie and terrible actress is not the reason the series fails either despite comments to the contrary. The series fails b/c the writing and directing is terrible. The motivations of the ML make no sense. There is a big WHY as to all of it. The 2ML we at least get that b/c he's the illegitimate son of the Chairman he just wanted to be acknowledged by him and the family. His motivations make a lot of sense. Then the show ends with *******SPOILER ALERT*******everyone getting everything they want except In ha. RIDICULOUS!!!
They wanted us to believe that Taeoh, In Ha and Hye Won were these great friends when we never really saw that. The show went from 10 years later to 5 years later with no supposition in between. No way for the audience to remotely believe they even liked each other besides the fact they were in scenes together that told us. No character development at all. No one to really root for b/c it was all disjointed.

Fast Binge Watch
WOW!! What did I just watch? It's wasn't bad at all but I wish the story had been developed more and maybe episode 4 had been at least 10 mins like the rest. The premise of the show is really interesting and unexpected at the end. The writer(s) did a really good job of making the audience want to see more but unfortunately with the short runtime of each episode we can't get the emotional punch of those twist and turn of events.
Overall the cast was really good and I hope they all make more shows. For this to be the 1st or 2nd series for most of them I am super impressed. Hoetae was very convincing as the psychopath and I really liked Jang Yeo Bin and Park Min Sun.

Monsta X Starting Point
The show was a heartbreaking, gut punch. I felt so bad for many of the trainees and then the monkey wrench of ADDING I.M. after the 7th episode seemed calluos indeed. Merciless as the cast said.I cried on a few epsiode and I felt like the judging was bad and no one really gave constructive feedback!! It was also quite annoyng when all the judges would say "when I was a trainee..." Who cares about when you were a trainee, that's why you should be a little more sympatheic instead being jerks.
Joohoney was amazing in every episode and makes me wonder honestly why he didn't just become a solo rapper... he is that good.
I'm a new fan to Monsta X and the only reason I even watched this is b/c the new sinlgle they have out, One Day. I became obssessed with Hyungwon from the new MV and wanted to know what he looked like as a younger, not as poslished guy. At any rate, he was super adorable even though I think he looks better with black hair and this has nothing to do with the review of the show!!

Very entertaining and enjoyable show
I loved the anime of The Prince of Tennis so when I saw this on my Netflix feed I was all in. This was so entertaining and I loved everything about the story, the characters and the tennis!! The casting choices were perfect. What I love most about the show is the male friendships and the camaraderie of it. I also loved that even though the teams were rivals there were really all respectful of each other. What I dislike about the show is all the flashback scenes in almost every episode to the extent that t was just too much filler.
Episodes 33, and #37-40 were my favorites; 33 is Siyang's match with Ji Jingwu and I was here for it!!! so exciting. Also, Ji Jingwu being all concerned was so adorable. I was here for the bromance as well and would watch a show with just those two!! Loved Zhou Zhi's match and of course Lu Xia's final match.
Of all the episodes Episode 37 is one of the reasons I truly love this show. The scene when most of the tennis teams go to the all you can eat barbecue is spectacular and one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time. It was so funny and all the people who didn't want to sit next to each other had me in stitches!
This show was so good and repeat watches are in order!!

What a waste of time
I thought the first episode was really funny but a lot of cringe though and I did not like the potrayal of dreads on that webtoon guy. However, by the 3rd episode the show was starting to get on my nerves.I don't like JCW's character. He was too nice and so gullible. It's ridiculous. I hate ML like this. Yes you can be nice and honest but you don't have to be a doormat and act stupid or blind to things right in front of you. I have to stop watching these kinds of dramas. I also didn't understand why his girlfriend even likes him other than his good looks when she is so ashamed of him and his upbringing.
Almost every character is annoying with no redeeming qualities. I hate that rich people in these dramas find it abhorrent that their child may be in love with someone they find beneath them. Dae Hyun has his own business and works hard to live a good and honest life; what is so terrible about that? The class system is ridiculous.
I never drop shows so that's my character flaw and I guess I should but this was 16 episodes of nonsense that actually could have ended at episode 13 when all main plot issues had been resolved. Yet it carried on for 3 more episode just to make ML and FL not get together until the last episode. STUPID!!
I really have to stop watching my sister's recommendations.
