This is a masterpiece but so underrated. I do think there should be a remake. The issues in this show are still…
There is a japanese drama version from 2016 but I doubt its as good… it would be interesting to see a korean version of this with higher quality/budget/cinematography. With some korean flavor to the drama too , ofc. But I love taiwanese version to death, the quality/cinematography is not great but everythng else is perfect… characters, plot, chemistry ….:)
Thank you for this amazing review, you made me totally interested now. Seems like my cup of tea! I at first refused to watch thjs drama becsuse of plagiarism… but I think I can’t hold it anymore, I HAVE to watch it!! Romance is my favorite genre
So i know this is not a romance but I NEED at least one hot passionate kiss scene between LJS and YoonA! Their chemistry is better than I thought it would be
Being a woman during Joseon era must have been so tough. Being a woman everywhere in the world was ofc tough in the past, but I think Korea was one of the countries where it was the toughest… women had no rights in Korea (it seems like that anyways…) It’s crazy that FL has to live with in laws (or she’ll be punished by death) even tho she is treated horribly there and is even in danger being there, AND she never even really got married because the groom died before the wedding! How crazy isn’t that !?
Also the whole suicide thing that is seen as a wonderful thing if the husband dies… jisses. Or the fact that because granny was kidnapped she was seen as a loose woman and was outcasted, even by her own son (but glad that he came around and accepted her again).
“A widow whose husband died before her would be applauded if she stayed single until her death and it would…
Thank you .. That’s sad .. in 19th century and earlier for women sure difficult… in countries (like Korea , India etc ) more difficult than other countries… but for sure life was difficult in all countries for women..!!
So dissapointed that Night Wanderer won’t probably ever air, so I’m delighted to find this drama now :) also a time travel between republican era China and current China :)
I think Young Woo and Joon Ho entered my top 10 favorite kdrama couples list ! Theyre so precious together , I love how healthy their relationship is <3
Ofc, like the rest of you, I dislike Young Woo’s mom. But Korea is still living in 1950s when it comes to children born out of wedlock, especially cruel to single moms. . But also to the ” illegitimate” children who often gets bullied and such! No wonder so many unwed mothers in Korea gives their babies away for adoption , not just because of the disgusting treatment of them, but also the disgusting treatment of the kids ..so the mothers gives away their babies because BOTH them and their kids will have terrible treatment otherwise!
For you who are waiting for ep 11 and 12, I recommend meanwhile to watch ”King’s Affection” another Park Eun Bin drama ,set during Joseon era Where she pretends to be a man. Available on Netflix… Another amazing work of hers, she truly is one of the best actresses in her generation!
The Mother is vicious ,,, she doesn't just abandoned her daughter ,, after she found out how amazing and excellent…
Well I guess if they found out about her giving birth out of wedlock it would be too much of a scandal , Korea still lives in 1950s when it comes to having kids while not married. Still not ok of the mom but kinda understandable
"can you really tell your parents that you're dating someone like her" oh damn why do i feel like this is foreshadowing???…
A kdrama without ML’s parents at first being against their relationship , would that be a true kdrama? At least in most old kdramas the ML’s parents are always against the relationship ML has with FL, because she’s poor or whatever. But here, FL has autism so the parents has even more ”valid” reason for to not approve of her (but yes , ofc its still a dumb reason to dissaprove of the relationship)
So do you think there will in the end be a wedding scene between Young Woo and Joon Ho ? Or will it be like in most kdramas, at the end still just dating or engaged but no wedding
Yes I knew they would kiss eventually, but I expected their first kiss to be a very Innocent one like just lips touching… but they actually moved their lips! Omg I’m SO happy!!!
Also the whole suicide thing that is seen as a wonderful thing if the husband dies… jisses. Or the fact that because granny was kidnapped she was seen as a loose woman and was outcasted, even by her own son (but glad that he came around and accepted her again).
Btw, did the law allow Joseon widows to remarry?
Young Woo’s mom is for sure very scared…
