On It Started with a Kiss Apr 4, 2026
I was a devoted fan of this drama and have watched all its versions. However, viewing it now from the vantage point of adulthood, I feel that a more compelling and realistic ending would have been one in which the two protagonists part ways. Their relationship could have remained as a poignant, enduring memory of first love rather than culminating in reconciliation.

In this alternative trajectory, the female lead might have rebuilt her career and pursued a path aligned with her own aspirations, potentially finding fulfillment either independently or with a more compatible partner. The male lead, in turn, could have proceeded with marrying the “ideal” match. Given the extent of rejection, humiliation, and emotional strain depicted, it seems unlikely that such a relationship would sustain itself in the long term.

His eventual return appears less as a transformation and more as an outcome of insecurity—the fear of losing someone who loved him unconditionally, coupled with the recognition that such devotion might not be replicated. It is this realization of loss that unsettles him; otherwise, he might have continued with the planned marriage.

A more fitting conclusion, in my view, would have allowed the female lead to grow beyond the relationship and the male lead to live with the enduring awareness of what he had lost—an absence that could not be reclaimed.

Just three episodes left, and the writer is still dragging the second male lead’s storyline unnecessarily. I actually stopped watching last week because of it. Even in the preview, he’s still there, taking up screen space again. It really takes away from the essence of the main plot.

At first, I thought the brother’s murder would unfold into a gripping mystery. But I never imagined that a relatively unimportant second male lead would dominate so much of the narrative. It’s honestly ridiculous and such a waste of what could have been a great storyline.

My comment is more of a question and not of a statement that would mislead viewers. That's why I seek clarification.

This is really alarming and something needs to be done against cyber bullying and toxic media outlets. Every years we are seeing this. This is detrimental to many people's lives.
Korean entertainment industry has gained massive popularity for the past few years but the inside is dark and toxic. I don't understand why anyone is not doing anything. How many lives need to be taken before this stops.

By rot in hell i meant as an after affect for causing suffering to the loved one. Every cause that we create has an after effects. That's why I used that terminology.

I didn't missed that part. All i am saying there are many ways to take the revenge. She could have fake her death and come up with a new identity. Marrying the second ML to take revenge could have been avoided. Read other comments as well, her repeated pain targeting action towards the ML has made the plot redundant and beyond frustrating.

I never said that I would like her to happily suffer in hell. I don't strongly hate her. I simply hate the pain that she is causing the ML. The SML has feelings for the FL and she chooses to act play with him . This does triggered his hope for making it real. She also promised never to leave him except he fell for someone. Again this gave him more hopes. Additionally she is constantly siding the Second ML in front of the ML therefore it led him to believe that she will always stay with him. I strongly think that taking the support and fake playing with the second ML inspite of awareness of his feelings fanned his misunderstanding and his insecurity about loosing the FL manifested his evil nature. I honestly think that FL should have independent ly taken the revenge without taking the support of the second ML.

I beg to differ and I don't like the 'noble idiocy trope' . Hurting your beloved repeatedly in the name of revenge is not love at all but the most heinous acts. Have the second ML never showed his evil nature she would have never think of leaving him. She herself has told him . How this act of her will do any good to the ML. Also, every child deserves to know his biological father no matter the timelines. It breaks my heart to see the extent that she goes to falsify the parentage and hurt the ML.

The FL is the main villian of the show. She is cruel and cold hearted to the extreme. For her revenge she can trample anyone. However she doesn't have any right to seperate the father and son. The second ML turned evil all because of her. The best ending to let the FL rot in hell whereas the ML can stay happily with his son.

I love the ML and would want to see him in every role but a cheating genre really pissed me off. I would love to know the extent of cheating?
Is it physical relationship between the FL and ex boyfriend for several years? . Is the wife thoroughly immoral and never considered the marriage?Or, is it emotional cheating? Can anyone explain? So that I can find it bearable to watch.

To summarise this drama. Is about two people which get married despite the fact that they don't know each other…
I completely agree with you regarding the second ML. Infidelity and cheating is unforgivable. No matter the gender of the spouse is. And, what I don't understand is why in every drama there is cheating troupe like it is a mandatory protocol that every drama should include. What kind of message are they trying to send?

I just saw the last part and didn't had the interest to see the whole movie. I want some clarification. So the female lead cheated on the male lead and had an affair with the body guard? The male lead gave the antidote to the fml boyfriend when he himself needed it. Does the female lead even had any feelings for the male lead?

My only complaint is that Inho and the mistress didn't get much of their karmic retribution. They walked out of their sin quite easily.

Not much actually, she tried but got backlash every time. The husband loved the wife deeply, he always trusted…
Thank you SubbingPaws for answering my questions. Before I start this drama please tell me how long will the concubine stay with the hero? Will she have intimacy with the Hero? I really hate dramas with multiple wives. Is it a happy ending for the main couple or the heroine will go back alone in the modern day? Again thanks for sharing.
