I think the writers are just going for high drama... and we're certainly getting a lot of it!
I agree, Farm was not at the bar to hook up, but he was attracted to Dr. Bright from seeing him hook up with the guy in the bathroom.
You make really good points about Korn and Knock. For me, I don't really ship them like a lot of fans do, so the drama doesn't bother me, I actually like it. But I can see how fans would be upset.

I agree, this is all the writer's doing... as it is with any series. It looks like their goal is to create drama.
Farm/Bright/Rit: It's true, Farm was naive in TWM. But... Farm first met Bright in the bathroom of a gay bar, where Bright was hooking up with a guy. Farm watched and was turned on by it. So he wasn't completely innocent. Of course, it was unacceptable that Bright brought in other guys to gang-rape Farm (which turned Farm into the creepy guy he is now). At the end of TWM, Farm was in the gay bar hooking up with a guy in the bathroom, just like Bright had originally done. Bright saw this and looked horrified, especially when Farm said to him "you made me this way." So the drama going on here with Rit is a continuation of that story... sordid as it is. (I do feel sorry for Rit.)
We should also remember that Knock was the cheater in TWM, he cheated on Korn with his girlfriend (and cheated on his girlfriend with Korn)... and Korn forgave him. Many fans hated Knock for what he was doing to "poor Korn." So the writers have obviously decided to turn the tables this time around.
Bottom line: if fans want a cute, romantic, fluffy BL, there are lots of those around... but this series isn't one of them. I still like it.

Knock wants Korn to come out to his parents so that they don't have to hide anymore. That is understandable and fair. Korn's father has made it clear that--even before Korn has said anything--if Korn is gay, then he is no longer his son, nor part of the family.
This reaction (or in this case, threat) happens all the time from parents of gay people, and especially in Asia, where the family unit is particularly strong. Gays are often made to feel that they bring shame and disgrace to the family.... it's horrible. Can you imagine having to deal with that? (I have a gay friend, living in New York, whose parents have told him that if he moves back to Korea and marries a woman, they will give him $200,000. He hasn't done it... but that's how crazy families can get. It's really insane.)
Knock has not been an angel in the past, but Korn stood by him. Now, when Korn is stuck with a real dilemma, Knock is giving him the cold shoulder. I'm gay myself, and I know gay couples (some are legally married) where one member has never come out to his family, for his own valid reasons. The other partner accepts this, for the sake of their lover's sanity. Being shunned by your family is huge... it's not something everyone can deal with, psychologically.
Sure, we can say "stand by your man no matter what -- love wins over everything!" That's a romantic notion, but not always realistic in everyday life, especially for gay people.
Ironically, Knock came out to his parents at the same time Korn cheated. That was brave of Knock, but look how well his parents accepted it. They had not threatened him in advance, as Korn's father has done repeatedly. So, maybe subconsciously, Knock had an idea his parents would be accepting. Korn's parents are totally different. (I have to say, Knock's acting in this scene was brilliant... I got teary.)
I don't defend Korn for cheating, but I do think there was a reason. He is really torn between the pressure from his family and wanting to please Knock. Knock has become cold with Korn. I don't believe Korn met with Pete with the intention of cheating on Knock. He was upset by his situation with Knock and used Pete as a sounding board. They drank too much, while Pete seduced Korn like crazy. Korn had a weak moment and gave in. You could see by the look on Korn's face, how destroyed he felt afterward.
I honestly feel that if anyone is to blame, it's Korn's father. Yeah, yeah... I know Korn did the cheating. But no one should EVER be forced to live someone else's life.

I agree. Plus, even with just one season, there could have been a lot more plotlines for AePete, instead of relegating them to the background for the last four episodes.
Many of us have invested a lot of time enjoying this series, and now that we've (probably) seen the last of LBC (and the English subs are up) I wanted to provide my (long - sorry) commentary on the show. First, the couples:
Ae/Pete: their story was great, it started out with the Trump drama, Pete's tearfully coming out to his mom (and her accepting it), Ae becoming Pete's "knight in shining armour." They were virgins and their relationship and love developed naturally, without too much craziness (Chompoo was annoying but thankfully disappeared fairly quickly). Kissing and sexual scenes were surprisingly pretty hot and realistic, for a BL. For the last four (?) episodes, the director gave Ae/Pete the "happily after after" treatment, so fans were happy (even though, according to the novel, they had a LOT more drama in store). I think Perth (Ae) is a terrific actor, especially for his age.
Tum/Tar: they didn't get much screen time, but it was an unusual story of the love between two stepbrothers (which I'm not that comfortable with, but there it is). Tum, the older brother, lives with his parents in Thailand, while Tar has been studying in France. Tum loves Tar, but Tar lives with a secret: he was brutally raped four years ago, has a fear of love and sex , while suffering with low self-esteem. I did not like that Tum sexually attacked Tar... it was out of character and disturbing. I guess their ending was okay, but it was difficult to become invested in these two as a couple. The stepbrother thing is weird, Tar forgave Tum a bit too quickly (from my standpoint) and Tar looks SO young it's hard to imagine him in a romantic role (I know he's actually 21 or 22, but it doesn't look like he even shaves yet lol). I was impressed by Earth's (Tar's) acting--not many actors are great at crying on cue, but he is a master.
Kengkla/Techno: I would have preferred they weren't even part of the show. There was no real story to tell... just a young kid (Kengkla) manipulating a situation so he can rape his best friend's older brother. Then, after the rape, Kengkla has the gall to ask Techno to be his boyfriend... Techno doesn't refuse... end of scene. Blech... whatever.
Tin/Can: I didn't start out liking them but, in the end, they became my favorite couple. Tin started out as such a jerk, but we found out that his brother's horrible betrayal was the reason he didn't trust anyone. Can started out acting like an annoying fly that needed to be swatted but, underneath his quirkiness and immaturity, we found out that he was a loyal friend and showed that loyalty to Tin, who had never experienced that from anyone. For the last several episodes, the Tin/Can romance was a "cat and mouse" tease, with Tin being the aggressor. But there were so many sweet moments (the scene where Tin tries to seduce Can while eating "Cantaloupe" was downright hot), while Tin softened and Can began to discover his feelings. I think we all really thought the last episode was heading toward a happy ending, with Can finally giving into an extended kiss with Tin (and then asking for more), getting jealous over the picture of Tin and Pete (and calling Tin out on it), discussing his feelings for Tin with P'Type (who flat out tells Can that he is in love), and then, three minutes later... BAM! Can asks Tin "can't we just be friends?" The next scene, with a fully clothed Tin breaking down sobbing in the shower, was absolutely devastating, the most horrible part of the series. End of story. So, what are we supposed to think?
I recognize P'New as a terrific director, but that was the lamest ending this show could have had. My heart goes out to P'New for all the behind-the-scenes drama he apparently had to deal with. He's probably a very sensitive and creative soul, but it's as if he just decided to end LBC without much thought, to get it overwith... and you just don't do that to a faithful audience, it's unprofessional. Yes, I know that Tin/Can eventually end up together in the novel but, since there is probably no continuation of LBC, this was a bad, BAD ending. Besides, who cares what's in the novel... we're watching a series, not reading a book. We're left wondering what happened to Tin. He's so mistrustful of people, how do we know he didn't become even more hateful, turn to drugs/alcohol/crime, or even try to harm himself?
Did I enjoy LBC? Yes, I really did... which is why I'm so bothered with how it ended. Did I enjoy how the Ae/Pete relationship unfolded? Yes, of course (although they just kind of disappeared for the last few episodes). I enjoyed Pond and Chereen as supporting characters, there were moments of drama, romance and comedy, the scenery and film/production quality were great. But with the disaster of the Tin/Can ending, along with romanticizing the Tum/Tar and (especially) the Kengkla/Techno couples, I was left with a feeling of... yecch.
The bright side: it's just a story, a series that we watch for entertainment.. There will be other series to entertain us and we'll all go on with our lives just fine!

The whole finale was reworked because of no Season 2. Trump was supposed to come back and attack Pete, Ae almost kills him, Pete's girlfriend tells Pete's dad about AePete and the dad breaks them up... but t,since Season 2 wasn't happening, the director changed it so that AePete could have a happy ending. So why couldn't he have done the same with TinCan? Aaaaarrrrggghhh!!
I totally agree with you about kla and techno i watched the uncut episode and their scene really creeped me out…
The ending for TinCan ruined the show for me. Really sorry to say this, because I liked LBC so much.

In the novel, Pete's girlfriend (I forget her name) stirs up all kinds of trouble for AePete, leading to them splitting up. The girl was introduced in the series, but then never heard from again... so AePete got to have a happy ending and we weren't left with a cliffhanger or feeling sad for them.
New, the director could have done the same with TinCan. I read that New intentionally gave TinCan an unhappy ending, so that all the couples wouldn't have the same outcome.
Umm... couldn't you have given the RAPIST an unhappy ending instead?? (Banging my head against the wall to try and make sense out of this.)
Tincan started their relationship in episode 11. And never really dated. So, I'm thinking it's unfair to compare…
The Tin/Can buildup started way before Episode 11. I would have been okay with Tin/Can not happening if there was no interest from Can, but that wasn't the case. There were the moments of "getting goosebumps and having to poop" (inferring that he was in love), the moments of jealousy and, in the uncut version, a long kiss that Can asked to repeat. Not to mention how Tin is left... he was just beginning to trust someone and now that is GONE.
It's so too bad, because I really, really liked LBC. But now I wish I had never watched it... I feel violated and that it was a waste of my time.
LBC screwed up big time. You do not leave your audience with the unhappy ending that Tin/Can got. With all the flirting, teasing, sexy music, kissing, jealousy, etc., ...we were led to believe they would end up a couple. Unacceptable. LBC went waaaayyyyy down in my estimation.
Finales are important. This one was about the worst. How many people would be happy if it was Ae/Pete that got the unhappy ending?
If there's one thing that future BL series can learn from LBC, it's this: never assume you're getting a Season 2!! Make sure that you end your Season 1 on a high note.
I know not everyone likes TinCan (I do), but having them not end up together was bad. The series has been building them up all season, with all the flirting, the sexy saxophone music when they're together, Tin's opening up emotionally...
Since we got almost none of TumTar and KengklaTechno during the season (seriously, why were they even there?), it would have been no big deal if neither of those couples ended up together. But with TinCan we got screwed on the ending.
