As a guy guy who's been through it all, I've just watched the whole thing and smiling here with happy tears in my eyes. I know that many posters here talk about how hilarious and funny it was -- and it was! -- but the producers really did their homework here.
I went through all of this... fascinated by the gay world, but denying with every fiber of my being that I could actually be gay, finding myself attracted to guys, but fighting with everything I had not to give in to that attraction... hanging out with and being hit on by gay guys, but not allowing myself to let any of them know that I too felt an attraction, drinking to the point of passing out... all of that.
Now I'm a perfectly happy gay man and wouldn't have it any other way. This series brought back some vivid memories of coming to terms with my sexuality. Thanks to the producers and directors for this! 10/10 for me.
This community got really mad because I made an account the same day I posted my review (I admit I tried to balance…
I really appreciate yopur honest opinion. Gay guy here as well and I've watched a lot of BL over the past 3+ years, so I feel I'm ready to pick and choose, with all the recent offerings.
When I saw that this has THIRTY-SIX episodes at 45 minutes each, well... that's a lot of time to spend and, if I'm going to devote that much time to a series, it better be great.
I'll admit to not being a big fan of this type of "historical" drama, so I've been reading the reviews to try and decide if I want to give it a shot. Your review made so much sense, I have a feeling I would be on the same page as you. Thanks for your detailed commentary.
When will these series ever learn??? Never, never, NEVER end a Season 1 with a cliffhanger! Season 2 often has a way of never happening with BL/LGBTQ series, and here is a prime example. Grrrrr.
I'll write my review now, but this has unfortunately put a big damper on it.
ME TOO!! I love this series sm. They deserve a second season. Their director P'Tee said we need to be loud abt…
I really liked this series too, but a S2 seems... unnecessary. I mean, what would it even be about? We already know that Gene/Sib aren't real, they're just characters made up by Rose at the end.
I agree with you 1000%!!! I went into this because a friend on the feeds said it was the best one out of the dramas…
Thank you for being so nice! Like you, I wasn't all that sold on ITSAY, I thought it was just okay. But you're right... 1000 Stars is going to be a tough act to follow!
Love Cherry Magic! My only complaint is that the people doing reaction videos (and they ALL love it) have gotten all their videos shut down because of Japanese copyright issues. It's such a shame and so sad, because their reactions would help get so many more viewers interested in this incredible series.

Other parts didn't make so much sense. Sorry that the bad guys didn't get their comeuppance.
