That's fine, but here's the thing: If ATOTS beats out ITSAY in the awards department, it doesn't mean your opinions and feelings about it are unjustified. At the end of the day, we like what we like.
There have been plenty of Best Picture Oscar winners that have had no impact on me, while many of the "losers" have been meaningful to me. I'm sure we've all had similar experiences.
Honestly, I've already forgotten them, since it's been awhile since I watched the series and it didn't have that big of an impact on me. Mainly, I felt there were a lot of "huh?" moments. I do remember feeling sorry for Bas, as it seemed Oh-Aew had a better chemistry with him than with Teh. And Teh's over-the-top crying grated on my nerves. What classroom teacher would just allow someone to sit there in the middle of an exam, loudly bawling his guts out and disturbing everyone, when concentration is key? Made no sense.
I was moved by Oh-aew's red red bra scene and the final scenes between Teh and his "girlfriend."
I meant unanswered questions within Part 1. ITSAY fans get VERY prickly if anyone thinks it's anything other than perfect.
I've already said I liked it. I just didn't love it, I found some of it boring. With ITSAY fans, I'm almost afraid to express my opinion, because there's no discussion... just jabs at how wrong I am.
I felt Mix and Earth had a chemistry that was off the charts. In ITSAY, I loved Billkin, but really didn't feel a chemistry between him and PP. As a guy gay myself, I couldn't relate to this particular story at all.
If you like ITSAY better than ATOTS, I'm not going to fault you for it.
I just finished the series. It's a visual feast, that's certain. Either they had a production budget other BLs…
Thank you for this, I felt very much the same way. And, like you, I liked it okay but have no desire to rewatch, as I do with some other series. I'm a gay guy myself, and really couldn't relate much to these characters.
Will they even be in the same awards year? At any rate, no matter. I liked ITSAY but didn't think of it as a masterpiece. Too many unanswered questions and wtf moments. Some of the actors were noticeably better than others. I gave it an 8/10.
I'm glad you wrote down your honest opinion. I'm one who really does love this series, but I've written some not so great reviews of other series and gotten a lot of flak for it.
We all need to remember that these are discussion boards and not fan pages. Thanks for your review!
I'm so sorry about your personal parental situation. Hugs!
I agree, marriage is often taken too lightly. People, especially women (not a sexist comment here, just truth), often rush into it because they dream of having a family and don't want to miss the opportunity. My feeling has always been "if that's your main reason for wanting to get married, you shouldn't do it." Marriage is about so much more than just that, and seeing families pulled apart is no laughing matter.
And yes, betrayal is awful. Really disappointing to hear it's so prevalent in Thailand.

Just kidding, don't take me seriously!
