Oh there are alot of japanese BLs that are not centered around school kids like pornographer, method, mood Indigo…
I agree with all these qualifications and this is why I don't count shows like ITSAY and IPYTM as BL even though they're categorically about boys in love.
I simultaneously love and hate this era of gay Korean films (hate because of how huge a role homophobia/toxic masculinity HAVE to play), but this was a very good short. The plight of being a teen coming into one's sexuality whilst also being gay, hearing impaired AND perceived as effeminate to top it all off is hard.
Only watched the BL episodes, but I liked them, especially the production quality. I really hope to see more of Santa in the future. I was most anticipating BoomPeak and they didn't let me down at all. Their episode was by far my favorite.
2.5/10WTF did I just watch? Thanks God , I speed it up. This is not a comedy, its a really bad parody. If you…
If you think it's that bad, you probably should have read more comments/reviews before watching. This doesn't take itself seriously at all. I grew up watching zany, campy gay movies. This is right along that vein of style. It's not for everyone, no, but it's still pretty funny.
I can't help but giggle seeing Peak and Boom back in their pink shirts and blue shorts and noticing how much they have grown; the last time they were wearing these uniforms in a series, they really were in high school!
I want to watch a really good, highly rated Chinese drama, but from my experience of kdramas, I know that I don't…
Based on what you've written, if I were you, I wouldn't watch. 1. This story centers around the relationship between two guys and how they navigate their lives in a world dominated by side characters who are also men. 2. It's 50 episodes long. Even if you were only into guy/guy stuff just a *little* bit, 50 45-minute episodes would still be 'a lot'. 3. Though it's technically historical fantasy, it's still set in some alternate universe of China 2000 years ago with all that that entails fashion-wise, culturally, and linguistically. So, if you don't like formal language, flowing gowns with long hair, and minor breaches of protocol turning into social/political turmoil, then this might get boring at some points for you.
All that said, this is an amazing drama and hands down one of my all-time favorites. I absolutely adore it.
For something highly rated and Chinese, maybe: You Are My Glory...it's recent and many seem to have enjoyed it.
"lack of accountability" - is this your first Mame BL?
I’ve seen all of them and it bothers me every time. LBC, TharnType, this one. Everyone’s like “Dude, that wasn’t cool, but we’re not going to stoop to your level.” in response to actual, caught-red-handed criminals. Mess.
The good: -eye candy, 6 out of 7 of the main and supporting male actors are hot...especially Ja and Puth -intimacy, I love a very physically romantic couple and I liked that about this show, but I also didn't like it because I felt it was too stiff in delivery -fashion, I loved all the man-cleavage, tight pants and basketball uniforms lol
The bad: -the story, the writing seemed lazy -lack of accountability, it seems like Manner of Death is the only BL in which criminals go to jail...

Oh yeah…I knew that line hit me deeper for reason.
