" I would say go for this one if you liked the comedy in Fish upon the sky, imagine that (specially the brother of the protagonist kind of humor) on a lower budget and production quality, mixed with bl loves from the past like Make it right. Take it to the countryside and you get Siew Sum Noi. An enjoyable turn off your brain watch."
Aaaand this description is why I'll be watching the show. With that description, I feel like I know *exactly* what I'm getting myself into and I'm fine with it. lol Thank you.
Well, I was holding up fine until episode 7, but I finally cried. :') Nice to finally have so many things cleared up and to see Man's radiant face again. Yes, the whole episode was a flashback, but I feel like the entire theme of this show along with the title kinda indicate that this is supposed to primarily be a step back into the past.
This is a warning to all dedicated Cherry Magic fans!!!!!Akaso and Machida have been casted in the same drama…
I'll just be happy to see them on the screen together again! So many scenes from this show already live in my mind, and my phone, and my laptop rent free! lol
how does this have a better rating than 2gether...
lol I feel like 2gether is an anomaly. I think lot of people who hadn't been big BL watchers before or only watched BLs every once in a while were really the ones that carried it to where it is. For people who've been watching BL for a long time (myself included), 2gether wasn't horrible (it was even very cute at some points), but it was underwhelming and overrated. For as f***ed up as TharnType is, at least stuff is actually happening. There's conflict, resolution, drama, chemistry etc. 2gether is very dry in this regard. Hell, I don't mind slice-of-life fluffy shows, but for that to work, there at least needs to be serious character-development-based story going on or some good romantic chemistry. 2gether doesn't deliver there very well. At least not enough to match the hype it got.
Honestly, I think 2gether ultimately did as well as it did because of a few crucial things that didn't have anything to do with the substance of the show itself: promotion, Bright's face, COVID-19, and the fact that it aired in spring (because in the fall/winter of last year I Told Sunset About You and Cherry Magic came out and 2gether really couldn't compete with either of those imo).
It's funny - you know how I am, and I was thinking about whether or not I would have put in the last kissing scene…
LOL @ the bath scene...It'd be enough for a nice miniseries. if they would have added some more material of them getting into their relationship and fitting in with the town for a bit. No need for drama. Just good old adjustment and healthy development.
It was a little confusing, but made sense at the end after a lot of paying attention. :/ I guess it was better than the first one, but I don't know if it needed that many twists.
I liked ep 6. I enjoyed the scenes with Note and Tar, as I find them absolutely adorable. I also enjoyed the conversations Nut has with Phob's sister and with his friend Gun (also cool to see Prem again :D). HOWEVER, I really, REALLY missed Phob this episode. I'm confused as to why we only got to really see him in flashbacks. COVID restrictions, maybe?
Anyway, I'm usually a big baby when it comes to sad BLs, so I've been expecting a big cry session, but nothing yet. Somehow, this series manages to be bright, warm and uplifting regardless of how sad the circumstances are.
QUESTION: I'm on Episode 2. Do folks in northeastern Thailand really eat on the floor? Are there no tables anywhere?…
It's not that there aren't tables, it's just that people in many parts of the world, sit and eat either on the floor with a blanket, on the floor with a small table or sitting atop a raised raised platform like in A Tale of A Thousand Stars. It's not uniform, though. Sometimes, people sit at the table and other times they'll sit near the floor. I've personally seen this in China, India, South Korea, Japan, and Thailand. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's only Europe and the Americas that don't have any cultures in which people often sit on the floor to eat.
About Water Boyy the Series, I'm almost positive that was just a mistake in set design. LMAO I'm glad I didn't notice that while I was watching it myself. It would have bothered me so much. hahaha
Highest rated BL series on MDL is the untamed "9.1"
I understand your sentiment. However, as a society, I think China's able to progress just as anywhere else can and novels as well as the shows like The Untamed mean a lot to people, especially young, gay Chinese people still finding themselves here, so I just wanted to point out the positive aspect of it as well. Cheers

As someone who lives in China, I'd just like to clear a few things up about LGBTQ media and people's perception of it the LGBTQ community here.
1. I'd like to point out BL in general very often mocks and/or miscommunicates the LGBTQ experience. Its priority has always been entertainment, not representation. That's changing nowadays though with shows like this one, but even this one, like every other kdrama is trying to attract people with actors with flawlessly clear skin and big, round eyes. 2. LGBTQ media is not banned in China. Chinese fans make up a lion's share of the international fanbase for Thai BL. And no, you do *not* need a VPN to watch Thai and other Asian BLs here. 3. The production of LGBTQ media is also not banned here. It's restricted. What that means is that if it's being produced by a major company and being broadcasted on major platforms, it can't show that kind of stuff. Which is awful, but that's the government's rule, not a representation of the sentiment of the Chinese people (there's isn't a representative government here, after all). Much smaller platforms like Blued, a Chinese made gay app which currently has the more members than any other gay app, even more than Grindr and Scruff, has recently produced some explicitly gay media that was filmed here in mainland China. Honey Sir is one of them. I think it's available on YouTube. 4. In China, no one who's a fan of shows like The Untamed, Guardian, or Word of Honor sees them as 'bromance'. lol Everyone understands that it's a (censored) homosexual romance and they enjoy it precisely because of that reason. My friend actually watched Word of Honor with her dad and even he was like "Wow, this is so obviously gay." 😂
So, yes there's still a loooooooong way to go here, but if I'd say the Chinese have been given lemons (in terms of freedom of expression of queer love) and are making lemonade (in the form of bromance).
I said it before, but it's confirmed now. I'm going to watch this entire series week by week purely and shamelessly for the visuals. I don't care how Leo fixes his mess or anything else. I know they'll end up happy anyway. Bring on more guys in basketball uniforms!
Make It Right was my first BL. I watched the first and second season when they initially aired and I've been closely following BL ever since. Somehow, this series managed slip right under the radar on me until now. I'm excited to see Peak and Boom on screen together again. I had missed them so much since and the only very short glimpses I'd gotten of them were in Why R U? and You Never Eat Alone.
Most people don't want to know what's going to happen at the end of a film before seeing it. Saying what happens at the the climax and end is considered spoiling. The only reason I gave you such an extreme example is because I'd said it twice in plain English and you still didn't get it. This makes my fourth time saying it now, so I'll be done with you as well.
