Don't give western morals that much credit. This series is catching a lot of flack from fans in Taiwan too.
The way I read it, the implication of what you wrote was that sexual assault was somehow more acceptable/normal in Asia and that in western countries, people clearly know that it’s not which is why you put it in quotes to begin with...to imply that it’s not western morality, it’s morality, period....and that morality is “differently perceived” in Asia about this topic.

If that wasn’t your intention, then good to know. I just responded how I understood it.

I am not getting the right-off-the-bat wholesomeness vibe that HIStory usually gives me. For starters, the main…
I wonder if it's a cultural/continental difference? In Asia, especially in the southern part, that actor is considered skinny, but not sickly. That body frame is extremely common here. In America or Europe though, I can see where you'd think he looks "anorexic" (though that's the most ineloquent way to put it).
It's like how people here would consider someone walking down the street with Mariah Carey's body to be categorically fat. The notion of "curvy" (in the Kardashian way, not the Fan Bing Bing way), "thick", and "healthy" don't really exist here. When people see western people like that, we know to accept that because more western media is consumed here in Asia than vice versa, so we kinda get it, but in general, in my experience, well over 70% of what a westerner (particularly a North American) would call "healthy", we'd just call "fat" or "big".

Is it just me or does the guy who played Yongjie look a bit like Den Lun? It only crossed my mind now
I got that for a split second too.

Because only half of the show was watchable [10/2], the story-line shallow [[10/2] -1] and the intrigue thoroughly…

Watching Yong Jie and Xing Si's conversation in the bedroom where Yong Jie says he's basically lost himself and said 'I couldn't lock you up because you wouldn't smile at me' or something like that gave me flashbacks to Killing Stalking. Actually, Yong Jie actually gives me a lot of Sangwoo vibes at some points, albeit much, much milder.

Person Lin Chia Wei
Deadass, he looks like he's Korean... Could be just me, though.
I thought so too. I think it's mostly the haircut and the eyes for me.

I'm a sucker for period pieces, so the clothes, way of speaking, and setting earned this a lot of points from the start for me. This wasn't super deep or complicated and it didn't need to be. It was a nice and easy watch.

There's weeks' worth of comments responding to the rest of these points, but didn't Yongjie say he learned to…
That isn't quite the same as learning to bartend in order to get him drunk though.

I really don't think he loved the queen, at least not how he loved the king. I also think the queen genuinely loved both of them.

I liked this series generally, but we deserved a better ending than that. It felt a little lazy.

There's weeks' worth of comments responding to the rest of these points, but didn't Yongjie say he learned to mix drinks in a bartenders club? Did he really mention at any point that he learned to mix drinks just to get Xingsi drunk??

Totally off-topic, but am I the only one who finds Mu Ren's clothes ridiculous? I mean, he has this pullover/sweater-vest…
Considering MuRen is a stick (sorry, but look at him), I think he gets put in will fit him weirdly, so I think they just take advantage of that by just dressing him as outlandishly as they can. Also, given what I've seen guys wearing walking the streets of Taipei...they're not horribly far off. haha

HIStory5 has already been confirmed to air later this year so I think they'll be closing the MODC arc story here…
As far as I'm concerned Xigu and Hao Ting lived happily ever after and went to see the Northern Lights together as show in Life Senjou No Bokura. That ending was just a bad dream. lol

I initially started watching because of Lee Soo Hyuk, but enjoyed all three of the main actors. This drama is like a warm cup of cocoa in the evening. Sweet and relaxing. If you're feeling in a particularly sad mood, watch this, it'll make you feel better. If you're in a particularly good mood, watch this. It'll help your good mood last even longer. ^_^

I'm really curious, what exactly prompts the relentless comparisons between WOH and Untamed? They are both successful…
The timeframe in which I watched them is what prompted me to begin comparing them, personally.

I don't find any similarity between CQL and SHL here. They are from two different books. SHL is on screen adaptation…
Thank you! Happy to be here. ^_^
