I'm a sucker for period pieces, so the clothes, way of speaking, and setting earned this a lot of points from the start for me. This wasn't super deep or complicated and it didn't need to be. It was a nice and easy watch.
Rape and Stalking is not love. I'm sorry if that bothers you. I continued watching this for the other couple and…
There's weeks' worth of comments responding to the rest of these points, but didn't Yongjie say he learned to mix drinks in a bartenders club? Did he really mention at any point that he learned to mix drinks just to get Xingsi drunk??
Totally off-topic, but am I the only one who finds Mu Ren's clothes ridiculous? I mean, he has this pullover/sweater-vest…
Considering MuRen is a stick (sorry, but look at him), I think he gets put in will fit him weirdly, so I think they just take advantage of that by just dressing him as outlandishly as they can. Also, given what I've seen guys wearing walking the streets of Taipei...they're not horribly far off. haha
HIStory5 has already been confirmed to air later this year so I think they'll be closing the MODC arc story here…
As far as I'm concerned Xigu and Hao Ting lived happily ever after and went to see the Northern Lights together as show in Life Senjou No Bokura. That ending was just a bad dream. lol
I initially started watching because of Lee Soo Hyuk, but enjoyed all three of the main actors. This drama is like a warm cup of cocoa in the evening. Sweet and relaxing. If you're feeling in a particularly sad mood, watch this, it'll make you feel better. If you're in a particularly good mood, watch this. It'll help your good mood last even longer. ^_^
I'm glad that you like it, but honestly I don't see any similarity to TU in terms of the story or plot. Maybe…
I'm actually going to yield here. I feel like it's causing a little bit too much flare and I don't want people to feel like the series they like is being sh*t-talked. In retrospect, I do see a lot of the similarities, tropes, and plot devices that I feel make them similar are coming from the genres themselves and the time span in which I've watched both of them. Though I can't say I appreciated one as much as the other, I can say that I liked them both.
You could try the movie „Your Name Engraved Herein“ if you haven’t already! :-)
Oh I feel lit too. There's just not that bubbly fantasy aspect that's in most BLs, you know? Like Those two remind me of western gay movies or other more realistic gay Asian ones like Gay OK Bangkok, I guess.
I don't mean to say it like this, but...I feel like this is all ultimately just Nubsib's fault. Not in the sense…
I think if Nubsib had just given Gene some space for a day or two and thought of a better way to articulate, "We can we work through this." in a better way instead of kinda just shouting "WE CAN'T BREAK UP. DON'T LISTEN TO THEM", Gene may not have left. Gene reminds me of my own boyfriend in that way. When something's really bothering him, it's more important that he get time to think and feel than it is for him to immediately talk or make decisions.
I don't mean to say it like this, but...I feel like this is all ultimately just Nubsib's fault. Not in the sense that he's the direct cause or instigator for all the trouble, but in that he had the ability to prevent all the trouble from happening.
-Nubsib is the one who was shamelessly open about his like for and later relationship with Gene, no matter who was around. #NubsibGene basically became a hashtag because Nubsib's own decisions.
-Nubsib is the one who's an actor and one who doesn't seem totally inexperienced and shouldn't be *this* ignorant as to what fandoms are like and what companies would expect of him. He's clever enough to read between the lines and understand that the company wants them to actually break up, but not clever enough to realize something bad could happen if their relationship became public ahead of time??
-Nubsib is the one who knew Aey 1) has a few screws loose and 2) has an obsession with Gene. In spite of all of this, he threw any and every sense tact straight in the garbage.
I love Nubsib and his devotion to Gene, but this really all could have been avoided. #choices
