I still can't think of a bigger reason as to why this even exists other than for the ships and to be nostalgic, but the actors did well, especially Mean and Perth.
I’ve been simultaneously an avid fundashi and a huge fan of Luo Yunxi for Y E AR S. Now that it’s time for him to star in a BL/bromance, they’re stalling. Ugh! Patience? I don’t know her.
I am really sorry if someone already asked about this. Did someone here has experience to watch Taiwan parade…
I think you might be referring to the amount of skin shown at the parades? Or maybe that it's too sexual? If so, I think it depends on the parade you go to. In Taipei, it's mostly just as you've seen it in the series. Everyone having fun, kids everywhere. Nothing overtly sexual.
I really loved the slice of life aspects of this drama. Cooking, picking Kai Kai up from school, playing with him. I also loved how it showed the normal stressful parts about being a parent like the scare of losing your kid for a while and dealing with tantrums. The dad's speech when he arrived to give them the bracelets also tugged quite a bit at my heartstrings. I definitely think we need more shows like this with gay people in family situations.
Now for the stuff I have some issues with. As adults, preparing to be parents, I understand that there are certain things that we have to just say "We'll cross that bridge when we come it" about like if your kid turns out to be super unruly and violent at school. That's not something at the front of your mind before you have a kid. However, being a gay parent of kid and not really having any idea (like not even a well-crafted lie) to tell to people you don't want to know that your kid has two dads seems like something that would have been discussed a lot earlier. Another thing is explaining to Kai Kai why he doesn't have a mom. He was 3. Like all other three year olds, they spend most of their time with their mom and dad and so that's who they always talk about. It's a wonder he didn't ask about that during the first week of daycare. It seems like they should have been a little better prepared with how to deal with that or at least have thought a great deal about it. Lastly, it strikes me as odd to start a family before fully coming out. Mian touches on this in the show a bit about how you don't want your kid to have to deal with the same awkwardness that you do. In spite of my opinions about those aspects, there's no such thing as a perfect parent, perfect family, or perfect circumstances, so I get that things will happen differently for everyone.
I'm not even going to rant as much as I truly want about how bad some of the acting was and how ridiculous Mian's excuse for not telling Jerry about Jimmy was. lol
So what I don't understand is... why does Jimmy sound someone who isn't fluent in English? If he's been living…
True, but it's not as easy to find a grown American kid/preteen living in Taiwan as it to find an American adult. So, they probably just made do with what they had.
A short peek into the lives of two brothers trying to find their way. You can tell they each care for each other, but are both trying to carve out their own lives while being financially tied to each other. Being made in 2011, it really fits the dark theme both literally (by being filmed at night) and figuratively that characterized the sparsely populated world of gay Korean cinema during the last decade. A lot of emotions were implied through looks rather than fully displayed, which was totally ok for me and I feel like I was able to feel and understand everything quite clearly.
forced? u make it sound like they're very reluctant. R u trying to say that they all actually hate their own country.…
BLM hasn't even existed for a decade. Don't see how it could have hurt the black community the most. Police do patrol black communities...which is why some of the contention exists...because of how those communities are being patrolled. There are hundreds of community programs in Chicago making it a better community than it was a decade ago, in spite of the crime rate...which again, isn't as high as it was. Just because you don't see BLM doing anything about it, doesn't mean everyone else isn't. BLM isn't the only community organization that is active or matters, it's just the most polarizing one because of, you guessed it, propaganda. Abortion has nothing to do with police brutality???? Why don't people who advocate so staunchly against abortions also rally for adoption??? Racism is racism no matter who you're throwing it at. You just said black people can steal and loot in the name of justice as if looters represent any sizable portion of the black community. THAT'S racism. It's the same type of racism that says: "They brought this sh*t over here with their bat-eating." (meaning to Chinese people, but actually referring to anyone the racist person sees who even LOOKS Chinese).
I’m guessing it has something to do with the fact that it’s promoting the CCP and a lot of people don’t like the CCP, so it’s being judged based on that rather than other stuff. Depending on how many fans who support the CCP get wind of this MDL page, you might eventually see this score shoot up to a 9 or 10. Online supporters of the CCP are numerous and relentless.
Lies and misinformation. Your anti-Chinese western propoganda has fooled you and you are helping to fuel Asian…
I think Mazecube is referring to the 'repressing Uyghurs, threatening Taiwan etc.' part of your comment. Comparing the Chinese government's relationship with Uyghurs/Taiwan to the west's relationship with China 100 years ago is pretty inflammatory in the eyes of many Chinese people considering the west's current relationship with China as well. Not totally taking sides, but that's how people see it.
how is this show related to 2 moons because I see Kimmon plays ming in 2 moons yet he is mark in this one?
Essentially he’s the same person, but their story is different...even though it’s still in more or less in the 2 Moons universe...like a different dimension of the 2Moons universe lmao
nah, that spoils the mystery for their backstory you aren't supposed to know yet in Pornographer
The only reason I disagree with this is because even in Pornographer, you come to know that Kido and Kijima had a previous romantic relationship of some sort. It’s not that mysterious. When you watch Mood Indigo after Pornographer, there aren’t any “aha” moments about Pornographer until the very end. The bigger mystery in Pornographer is: Why is Kijima such a jerk to Kuzumi? If you watch Mood Indigo (first five episodes) before starting Pornographer, you don’t have to worry about that and can instead focus on how much Kijima’s character and personality has developed and how that affects his interaction with Kuzumi.
Just my personal opinion though. I watched Pornographer first, then Mood Indigo. Then I went back and watched it the way I mentioned and found it more fulfilling.
