People are referring to the Chinese Drama Hidden Love as a paedophile drama which it is not. It is about a 14 year old female student who falls in love with her brothers 19 year old friend. She crushes on him from the age of 14 onwards. The male character is caring towards her throughout the years but doesn't groom or take advantage of her at all. Eventually he does develop feeling for her but not until her freshman year of Uni when she is 19 and him 24 so its not like a 19 year old was preying on a 14 year old. Personally I loved this drama and recommend it. The acting from both the FL and ML was really good.

Now that it has been a few days since the drama ended I too believe that she is alive. When in the snow they were discussing Xia Han waiting for her no matter how long and how he would get two fish for her to name when she returns. I presume she went for treatment and for some reason didn't want him to go. Her toothbrush also hints at him waiting for her and the blooming of the flowers symbolises that they will be together as this occurs just before she returns. He's sad because he has been waiting a long time and misses her. Also in one of the interviews for this drama the interviewer asked about the ending. Jerry said he preferred the sad ending. The interviewer then asked Xu Ruo Han about the happy ending. She didn't give away much on purpose (as to not spoil it) but said He Ran is not sick, then to remind Jerry about this version/scene she says 'remember where He Ran gave Xiao Han the umbrella' - i.e., the field of flowers where she was shading him and flirting etc. Hence, this is where the ending/reunion scene took place. Xiao Han genuinely appears to be surprised to see her in the flesh and emotion, so yes guys I think she is alive. They also hug, you can't physically hug a person who is not there in the flesh. And like other comments the same dress can be worn twice. There are a few inconsistencies, such as why He Ran's hair is still long (I would have expected her to lose it through chemo) but this was probably done for visual purposes.

Episodes 22 and 23 are released on Monday February the 27th and episode 24 (final episode) on Tuesday the 28th.

I keep watching the trailer for episode 24 and swinging from a sad to happy ending. They do get married as they are wearing wedding rings. I am not sure how to interpret the second part of the trailer where they are lying in the snow and confessing there deep love for each other again. It could just be that or maybe the final moments before He Ran passes away as her voice is soft and sad.

I think Xiao misinterpreted that scene as He Ran and Han Yu possibly being a couple because I am not sure it heard her response. This could be why he pushes her away when she comes to the florist

He knows that she was studying in XiJing as he saw her admissions letter that fell out of her bag when she ran away from home in the earlier episodes.

Agree. I am a bit confused as to where exactly they are in time at present. If my understanding is correct they met in the summer of 2017, broke up and then got back together during Chinese new year in 2018? In episodes 20 & 21 they were time jumps and the mention of "its been one year", since when? they first met? or last saw each other? I am not sure. The mother took a leave of absence to go and stay with her daughter for treatment but then the next minute is back in her home-town by herself and about to go off somewhere and He Ran's treatment is going well and she has moved back into the dormitory which she had previously moved out of. So are we now in the summer of 2018?

The preview for episode 24 implies a sad ending in my opinion. The first part is XH proposing and all happy and the second part they are lying in what looks like the snow telling each other they love each other and crying but I suppose she could be going through treatment still at this time and not know whether or not its terminal. Where did those of you read/see the director say that the ending is not sad? not sad or bad?

So in the drama we found out in the most recent episodes that He Rans father was diagnosed with leukemia and sometime after commit suicide. Someone posted below that in the book Xiao Han's brother died of leukemia. I am thinking that maybe the father and brother met through treatment, perhaps became friends and the father then gave/or painted the painting for Xiao Han's brother?

The scenes in the official MV (around the 2 minute 30 mark, which haven't appeared yet) make me feel hopeful for some sort of a happy ending (as shown at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWRrqUABUMA) although the lyrics are ominous and suggestive of a not so happy ending. I think it could really go either way.

I am going to feel really empty too but kind of feel that I need it to end in order for me to get on with my life as I am obsessed with this drama and think about it when its not on and have the OST stuck in my head (sad I know). I am going away with limited internet access next week and won't be able to watch the final three episodes until March the 4th. The wait is going to be agonising (hence my wish for the episodes even sooner). I haven't been this invested in the relationship of a fictional couple since Son Je Yin and Hyun Bins characters in Crash Landing on You.

I am really intrigued by this as well. How did Xiao Han end up with the painting by He Rans father, did they know each other? I agree that I think it is an original and that the "uncle" realised its origin and lied about it being fake since he said he only met the painter once at an exhibition and we know that not to be true as he has a relationship with He Rans family.

At the end of ep 23 I get the impression that Xian Han goes back into the room where He Ran is after seeing the couple in the lift with the flowers and sees her with her nose blood and hair loss (effects of chemotherapy?) since she turns around from the mirror with a surprised look on her face. I really hope that her chemotherapy works and she gets to live happily with Xian Han for many years.

Anybody else praying that by some miracle they change the schedule again and drop the remaining three episodes this Thursday and Friday instead of next Monday and Tuesday? I know its not going to happen but would love it if they did!

Would be even better if we didn't have to wait 4 days for the final three episodes after having two episodes everyday up until that point.

Your right they have brought the episodes forward. Must mean the forbidden flower is getting the recognition it deserves.

Just realised that the actress playing the role of the female leads mother is only 31 in real life and her love interest 30 (if I've identified the correct actress/actor in the cast list).

In the drama the FL is supposed to be twenty and the ML 35? if the same as the book.
