No it is a standalone sequel. Think of it like HiStory. The s1 CP does make a cameo though so you can watch s1 so you will recognise them, but not really a must

try looking for it in ep 2 and 5 too

rewatching now, in certain parts you can see the aspect ratio suddenly change. it seems like they are attempting to crop away the mic from the top and also the reflecting plate from the bottom for some parts but it seems like they missed out some of them. not to mention it is awkward when the ratio just change between cuts

Labelling it as a remake is really not giving the show justice. Many people dismiss the show because of it being a "remake".

They are two different adaptation from the same source material. If only more people see it that way instead of keep trying to compare.

Length do not matter, it is how they make use of the time. To My Star 1 and Our Dating Sim are short KBLs (2 hours) but many agree they are among the top KBLs. Execution matters. A long show can be boring and draggy if not done well. Likewise a short show can be rushed if not done well. As long the director and production team know how to strike the perfect balance, both long and short shows can be good.

But sadly we do have many short KBLs that clearly need more time for development.

yeah the first week usually start the pace and it is sad that the first week episodes is confusing for many. hope more people come back and give it the chance it deserve.

IKR. while all the CP are awesome, kim an and hyun is the one i pay more attention to

only bon appetit end of the month. so there will be one week no KBL between WHY R U and bon appetit. bump up business is announced for october but no exact date yet

it is amazing how this show's reception changed 180 degrees. when announced, people call it the sequel no one ask for. when the trailer drop, people say it is a confusing mess. when ep 1 and 2 drop, people are still confused. but as the week goes by, it just keeps getting better and a lot of people are liking it.

it is a shame some people dropped off in the first week and never give it the chance it deserve. hope some of them can come back and give it a second look

no KBL drama has cleared the 8.2 rating barrier (though some did debut with higher score). hope this show's rating can at least rise to 8.0 or even 7.9 would be relatively good

yes. you might be confused just watching the first few episodes, but do not give up and finish it. you will be satisfied
