Because the strong bond between the male leads/characters can be easily interpreted as romantic. The ambiguity of "bromances" allows for a variety of interpretations
It can be, something that's not explicitly marketed as BL can be interpreted as such by the power of imagination and sheer force of will. The world is our BL oyster, and if we squint, the most mundane, seemingly "straight" scenarios will drip with homoerotic undertones. That's the magic of fandom
I was pumped about this, until the manhwa hit me with the tea about the producers yeeting the second gay couple and replacing it with a straight one. I know, one gay couple would already give the homophobes cardiac arrest, two would send them to the ER. But I'd push their buttons and let them self-destruct. The world would've been a brighter, gayer place without them
I’m still deciding if this will be worth watching and skipping the straight scenes. Decisions, decisions
In omegaverse omegas can get pregnant and also act like traditionally viewed females who stay at home, cook, clean,…
I don't know what the other person is on about, I agree that "the purpose of BL is to convey the struggles of a gay couple to public as well as to show how it's normal"
BL tells stories about romantic, sexual relationships between men. Being marketed to certain audiences (girls and women) doesn't change that it's gay in its content and representation. It’s a subgenre of gay media differing from other gay content in that it’s typically softer and more upbeat. It's a utopian vision of gay love and acceptance, a welcome escape from the harsh realities of the society we live in, and an alternative to the grimness of the stories that "bury the gays"
My interpretation of omegas is that they aren't men, so I don't consider omegaverse stories to be examples of BL or gay fiction
In omegaverse omegas can get pregnant and also act like traditionally viewed females who stay at home, cook, clean,…
The BL, GL genres and tags are helpful for people who are specifically looking for gay, lesbian content. I wouldn't want them removed. If I clicked on the general "romance" tag, I'd see thousands of straight stories, and it'd be a hassle to sift through them to find the few stories that feature gay or lesbian relationships
We should add the "romance" tag in addition to the BL, GL tags so that the stories can reach a wider audience. People who enjoy romantic stories but might not be familiar with the BL, GL genres would be able to discover and enjoy them
This is a better solution than removing the BL, GL genres and tags altogether
Can anybody give me a hint about what’s this alpha males and omegaverse thing, i was hella confused while watching…
I love me some fantasies sometimes, but omegaverse crosses the line. Please don't try to pass it off as BL/yaoi/gay. Call it what it is, a straight furry fantasy with extra steps
BL/yaoi is a subset of gay media, a specific genre that focuses on romantic/sexual relationships between men, not creatures that look like men but are sprouting lady bits and going into heat. I don't consider "omegaverse" or so-called "mpreg" to be part of the BL/yaoi genre
people here in the comments are taking fiction too seriously, touching some grass is good.
"I saw movies in which a famale character gave birth to an egg"
Some non-human females lay eggs, it's not unrealistic. The creatures in the movies you watched would be female and not fully human
If you start with the sentence "a ____ gave birth to a baby" and fill in the blank with "male," your fantasy took a wrong turn into the Land of Absurdity. I will get angry and suggest taking a hard left out of Fantasyland and onto the Highway of Realistic Terminology
It's a fool's errand to try and apply the labels of reality to the fantastical creatures of your imagination. I wouldn't imagine a creature that can fly and breathe underwater and call it a "fish." The label wouldn't fit. I certainly wouldn't imagine a creature that can go into heat or get pregnant and call it a "male." Your imaginary world has "different rules," and you need to come up with different terminology that fits your imaginary world. Don't misuse or shoehorn in labels that belong in the real world (like male, female, man, woman) and expect others to accept them as fitting
They told you that I'm a "terrorist," which is a very serious accusation. I wanted to clear up the misunderstanding. I'm not the person they are referring to
The accusations are unfounded. I've never praised "My Demon" or watched "Castaway Diva" to "terrorize" its comment section. They must be mistaking me for someone with a similar username, mine isn't unique
Tae Ri is my favorite actress. My username wasn't meant to cause confusion
What 10s? You won't find any ratings in my account, because I can't be bothered to start a spreadsheet of the dramas/movies I watched. I use MDL to join the discussions every now and then
"You guys are dating, right? Right?""Oppa, you can tell me""I have no comment"The staff reactions!!Oh my dululu…
"No comment" means "please don't pop our PR bubble. We're not dating, but our paychecks and popularity depend on our delusional fans believing we are!"
I was like damn that's peak fanservice crazyyyyy 😭
"Since all of Korea are becoming their fan"
You're getting ahead of yourselves. Not everyone in Korea is a fan. There's a good chunk of Korean people who see LR for what it is; a forgettable, mediocre drama that's been blown out of proportion
I want to know too, these people saying omegaverce romanticize abuse doesn't most Chinese straight series do that…
1- Scent-based attraction plays on our subconscious biases, without our conscious awareness or permission. The use of fragrances to entice others is manipulative
2- Humans have committed atrocities, and omegaverse is one of them. We don't need fiction to add to our overflowing plate of awfulness
5- Omegaverse's gross distortion of reality, mischaracterization of female-bodied characters capable of heat or pregnancy (omegas) as male, glorification of pregnancy, and unwelcome intrusion into the BL/yaoi genre—they are good reasons to hate the genre
6- I have experience under my belt and know my way around
"Straight" storylines are as unpalatable as expired milk. You could drink it, but why would you want to? I wouldn't dream of it

The rating must have been inflated by some serious bribing. A more fitting rating would be 2.9-7/10. This drama doesn't belong in the hall of fame
