I just came home from work. Usually at this time I would be getting ready to watch the newly released episode.…
Time to delve into the back catalogue!! 😊 One of my favourite things to do when you've 'met' a new actor, is go back to see their previous work. Alternatively, watching them in variety shows (particularly the series ones) is a fun way to see them, rather than their characters. For me, Wang Anyu in Crazy Treasure Hunt was a particular joy!!
Well, I finally finished it. I couldn’t even really watch that otherworldly alternative universe because it…
Re Deng Kai: He did absolutely slay that role, I can understand why the 'overnight success' hit hard. I'm not sure who didn't see that coming to be prepared for it! But I did see that he's now got a full team of security, so hopefully no more mobbing!
ya'll i'm only on ep 12 but is qi min a villain? obviously he's not a hero but is he just a villain? i don't want…
Yep, but not 'just' anything. He's a complex, beautiful, dark and haunting villain! Okay, he may have sent me a little crazy, but I don't think I'm overselling him! 😂 He does get a fair bit of screentime, though, so just relax and enjoy the role for what it is. And I'll be shocked if Deng Kai's success here doesn't result in some great offers for lead roles in the future. He's one to watch for sure!! 😊
Okay I finally finished POJ and I have thoughts. This is a solid 8.5/10 for me. I was this close to giving it…
I suspect that a lot of what made this so good is down to the director. It will be interesting to see if the actors can take what they've learned here and apply it in other roles. 😊
OK, I listened to you guys and I put that giant comment as a review. It’s not my usual type of reviews so I…
I delve into the cdrama back catalogue a lot, and head straight to the review section to get a sense of whether I'll enjoy watching. So a big thank you from me and future viewers for this review and all those you've previously posted. 💕
Qimin and Sui Yuanqing—can we talk about how insanely good those two are? Holy shit, I swear they carried the…
From what I've seen on his Weibo, it looks like Deng Kai went the extra mile to understand Qi Min's backstory and motivations. Along with the director and crew's attention to detail, that has resulted in a fully fleshed out, 3-dimensional character. For me, he stole the show, and I can't wait to see what Deng Kai does next!
They need to get someone to write a new description of the show that maybe doesn’t talk about the blood of children.…
It's weird, 'cos it also looks like some of that was written for a netflix audience. A "magnificent oriental fantasy epic" "breaking through the traditional fantasy and fairy-tale drama types" 😳
Agreed! I'm a sucker for a deep voice, and his tone is just divine! I stumbled on a dubbed episode of When Destiny Brings the Demon by accident - it took one line for me to nope right out of there! 😂
i was shocked when qi min said oh yeah we have to kill this one, but we'll have lots of other children in the…
I recommend reading the post Deng Kai wrote about this today (I've added them in the discussions section under 'Qi Min character missives'). It provides some context for Qi Min's messed up ideas!
