"She Would Never Know"
This one has a break up towards the end, but I personally liked that the events that caused the break up, the break up itself, and the events after happen in between episodes, and does not take that long before (for once) the female lead chases after the male lead until she finally gets him back! I do not remember the exact episode but I believe everything happens between episodes 13 and 15! Still, one of my favorite K-Dramas!

My only complain is that I wish they either got together earlier, or that the show had more episodes, since I…
Exactly!

Late romance? that's always a shame...
After watching this one, I couldn't agree more!

Their chemistry was so good, that the male lead actor did not know how to act, and they were still good together; that's how good their chemistry was.

They were good together as friends. Actually, the ML met the FL before and was attracted but alas, he only saw…
Just finished "The Youth Memories" and wow!

It is by no means the best drama or best romance, but is one of the best productions I have ever watched in Dramaland!

The work realized by the whole team allows to travel to 1970 and go through their lives like you were there!

Like always, I have suggestions and recommendations of things that I would change, but this one is still a great production worth watching from beginning to end!

That being said, if I ever have to rewatch this one, I would watch episode 1, from episode 18 to 28, and then until the end skipping everything else but for the main couple interactions. However, for first timers, I hope they watch everything and enjoy the amazing work done with this production.

I made it to episode 20!

The first 10 episodes were a nice introduction to the characters and their lives. The male lead is a natural leader, and was able to turn enemies into the most loyal friends thanks to his code of honor, and his willingness to sacrifice himself for others!

The male lead first crush was the girl in the library (FL), which at first he confused with the SFL. Most of the problems in the first part are related to the SFL.

The Male lead starts "dating" the SFL after the SML decides that he wants to compete fairly for her. However, it takes a year of the ML walking near her like a puppy for them to finally start "dating". The SML finally decides to pull back after intruding every two seconds, but that was only words because even then he would be present around the SFL giving her things that the ML never could.

Some side stories are interesting, like the sister of SML and her engagement, or how one of the guys from the other crew protected the girl he loved, and married her.

The only episode that felt like a complete waste was episode 17.

I mentioned "dating" for the ML and SFL because even when this show is not the most romantic show, they said they liked each other, but from the moment she leaves him to go to the army everything went downhill, and they never were the same again.

overall, I will feel more satisfaction when things start to work out for the leads, and their lives turn to the better soon, since I saw all their pain and suffering until now, but you can do without the first 17 episodes.

The only recommendation from me, is that instead of starting on episode 20, I would start on episode 18! There is when all things start to move towards the second half of the show.

I made it until just before the last episode, but I was still so lost that I will need to rewatch the whole thing once they have good enough subtitles...

I got angry at "Shu Wen Bo" more than once for rejecting the girl for no reason, and because it made their progress…
That's true!

I won't lie... I really want to just skip to episode 20, and start the main lead's romance, but I am on episode 5 now, and I am enjoying the drama for now. I am just not taking the girlfriend as serious, and more as a first experience.

I feel like the friend is pathetic, and will make a lot of mistakes towards the male lead, and he will most likely not retaliate because he will feel indebted for all that is happening with this girl.

I am controlling myself, and just told my brain that I won't see them together for now, but I can still enjoy the story and the character development.

After reading your description, and watching the trailer! I feel like I am going to love this one!!

I was watching "My Lovely Liar", and while I appreciate that is has been a light drama (for me), and I a little bit bored now on episode 14. I went back to your list to find my next stop in Dramaland, and found this beautiful place ("The Youth Memories"), and I feel like even as friends we will see nice moments between them (not everything is romance).

After watching the trailer, I am already looking forward to episode 20, but with no rush. I am ready to skip, but with all the scenes look beautiful!

And, I am super excited knowing that after they get together on episode 25 (I think it was), they will not break up, and things will only get better and better! From episode 20 to 38 is 18 episodes of romance, and I am down for that! I will let you know what I think about the first 20 episodes when I get there.

"The Youth Memories" sound great, and after watching "Fireworks of My Heart", I learned that waiting for 20 or 25 episodes for the main leads to get together is fine as long as we get to see the romance develop, and the story and plot to move forward. However, since the male lead since to be dating someone else for the first 20 episodes, I am afraid that "watching the main leads romance development" is out of the question at first, so I may ask, how is the relationship of the main leads as friends? good or bad? close? I do not need to know the details...

How about the story and plot itself, is it boring? Slice of life or does it have an actual plot?

The second male lead gets too much of the spotlight on this one for my opinion... What could have been the female…
I'll say that the show is definitely different, and the romance feels fresh and opposite to rom com!

The first episodes are slow, and unless you get interested in their work life, you may get bored.

I was a bit upset because they see each other like three times and only for a moment in the first episodes, but after their flirting started, I was hooked!

My only complain is because of something that happen two or three episodes before they started dating, but I guess is part of how this weird drama rhythm works.

I am on episode 11 now, and it is safe to say that you can skip absolutely everything about their work life, and you are missing nothing!
