Hello! I understand where you are coming from, but I do not think this is a problem! I think it is beautiful how regardless of him being a king they both have their lives, and get to keep their lives and their love intact! We see too many shows where one has to stop living their own life and need to sacrifice everything for the significant other when real love should be about supporting each other unconditionally. About the succession to the throne, no kids, no problem, there will always be alternative lines if the king does not have a direct descendant.

Personally, I like Noona romances, but I understand why a lot of people do not like the teacher/student trope, however, it seems like this one does not necessarily break moral rules since they will not get together until they are both adults and he is not a student anymore! I am personally looking forward for the romance, since I can see clearly how this pure love for mathematics can work as the core of their future feelings for each other. Something that helps since I have no idea when this will happen is that even taking exams on this show is exciting!

I just finished episode 2 and I think their connection is very deep and heavy, but not romantic at all (at this point). It is normal to always find attraction between man and woman, but I believe that the link between this two so far is pure and clear mathematics!
