Every piece of fiction is inspired by real events, real places and real people, and yes, religions as well. This has been done for generations, so just understand that this is a work of fiction and continue with your lives.
Love Triangles and Bromance is just another stupid excuse to force us to watch another person intruding into the main couple's relationship only to stay in their relationship even after rejection or "moving on" because the guy remain friends with both the girl and the guy. Total BS, but I guess a lot of people like these tropes since they seem to be used way too often.
I have the same complain from too many, if not all Japanese Dramas that I have ever watched, and it is that, while I dislike all love triangles, I understand that the trope can be used to contribute to the main couple getting closer through jealousy and sometimes, even make the story move forward if the character is relevant to the plot. However, J-Dramas love triangles usually have people that do not respect marriage and either intervene, or think they have the right to threaten with taking the person away (like an object) or directly court the person like the person was single... This I don't like from J-Dramas ...
