The ML is not giving. Feels like a totally new character when he grew up. I’m only on ep. 7, so I guess I’ll…
The first part half of the show is mostly about developing both main leads and their own lives, but if you pay close attention you will find that their interactions are not only interesting but authentic. The main leads interactions in the first half are refreshing because those are the moments where they can be themselves entirely. Bonus: Pay closer attention, and it will foreshadow their future together, and when they finally get together it will be all worth it, and you will get a ton of them together afterwards.

Rewatching now, truly a gem n so enjoyable
My second rewatch, and while I am excited to watch since episode 37, I feel no rush because the show is very good.

I feel this. I'm in the states. I used to watch on viki for the comments. It comes back on and off and off again.…
I am rewatching this on iQIYI, but Viki is definitely better for the love comments alone.

Title The Story of Ming Lan Spoiler
Yes, the story has a heavy love triangle and a very happy ending. If you want to know more information about the…
This is a romance story, but beyond that, it is a story about Ming Lan, which will take you from her childhood to her adult life. Ming Lan first love is a young person that had feelings for her, but was not strong enough to fight for her in the end. This part is vital to the story because it helps developing the female lead into the strong person she is by the end of the story, and makes her actual relationship and marriage shines when she finds her true love. I wouldn't be discouraged because nothing really happens between FL and this other guy beyond some flirting. I hate love triangles, but I did not mind this one because even though it took a long for the main leads to finally be together, they were one from the moment they got married until the very very end.

Hear me out... I don't understand why writers insist in creating these one sided relationships. It is beyond weird that this person has this one sided relationship where they are not only with a crush, but in their mind they are going in a date while in reality maybe they are spending some time as friends with the other person. Things only get weirder when they acknowledge these delusions by giving them "closure" with an emotionally charged farewell/semi-break up/moving on scene in the center of the scenario with flash backs, emotional music and more! If you ask me, this is lunacy and a waste of time. If a character has unrequitted love, that means is one sided and they should deal with that and move on from that on their own, like a normal healthy person.

They became a couple in episode 19, and first kiss episode 20.
So there is a love triangle... this is why of the reasons why you can't really trust some comments here. A love triangle doesn't require reciprocity, only interest. I hate love triangles, but I understand that it is a classic trope in Dramaland. I do hope that is as light and short as possible, because Love Triangles are often used to annoy the hell out of people nowadays.

People say that this is a slight romance, but I am only on episode 4 and every single interaction between the main leads exudes romantic vibes one way or the other! I am liking this a lot so far.

Title Melo Movie
Hong Si Jun is the perfect example of what you shouldn't be as a person in any kind of relationship. Love yourself and learn how to care for your loved ones.

The problem is that there are a lot of masochists that like having second lead syndrome. I agree with you, he is not a good person and shipping him with FL is nonsense, but again, some people just like pretty faces. My view is pretty simple; the main leads are supposed to be together, that's the whole point of a romance show...

I read the same thing somewhere, that his so called friend creates a misunderstanding and causes them to break up. I don't know how long the break up is, but just knowing that it was caused by that jerk with unrequited love is enough to make one upset. If I had the chance to read the Webtoon someday, I would skip the whole misunderstanding caused by that idiot, and maybe even the break up itself...
