I like him, since he is the actor from my first and favorite K-Drama, but I haven't seen anything worth of praise in his character here. I do hope his character is developed properly.

I think you both have a point, but I believe the original comment is referring to progression and plot development. The second episode was a good chance to either keep introducing characters and plot, or other elements relevant to the story, but the description feels like filler, which does belong to a second episode of a show...

2nd episode: half of the time the flies having sex, another half - performing heart surgery on the mouse. Ah,…
I believe they did a great job with the first episode. While weird at times, it did well introducing the male lead and other characters, so I was expecting them to use the second episode to give us a better introduction of the female lead or present us the plot, but it seems like that's not the case...

thoughts on ep 1: no way my man Oh Jung-Se is second lead again, the pool scene was weird, only watched ep 1 but…
I agree! I feel like 2FL had a great introduction and she seems to love ML. Her father is guilty of ruining his career, but she cares for him, which was showed in detail in only a few scenes, and beyond caring for him, she needs him which reached another level of "awww" in their relationship.

I believe things would be a lot better if both main leads had just broken up with their respective partners, just before they launched to space in this mission.

I am not concerned about the lack of chemistry between the main leads yet, because the setting will allow them to interact a lot which should allow proper development of their characters and their feelings, which still leaves the question of how they will deal with these love triangles.

I do hope that they bring a somewhat good plot or good villain so we don't have to suffer from angst, love triangles, misunderstandings and break ups just to make it to episode 16...

People just taking 2FL side and hoping ML won't go for FL πŸ™„She RUINED his life, because of her ML was jobless…
On the other hand and based your own argument; do you then consider that using her just for money is a valid reason to use her feelings for money? It is most definitely not fair that he lost everything because big bad rich old man is fixating in him, but she is also a victim of this toxic family environment. A relationship is not all about love, but also about caring, commitment and respect, so by all means, ML and 2FL are in a normal relationship and flirting, and then going for FL without resolving whatever he has too with 2FL first, is cheating and is wrong.

I don't agree with your argument. I am one to believe that the main leads in any romance show belong together, but it is hard to feel like that when both main leads are already in a relationship with someone else. It is clear that the intention of the writers is to use the excuse of (at least the male lead for now) that he has never been in love until he meets and interact with the female lead, but cheating is always wrong and red flag or not, he does have a relationship with 2FL and she seems to genuinely care and has feelings for him. I feel like you are only reacting like this because she doesn't have the label of "female lead", which in understandable since main leads get a free pass for most stuff like this.

You even acknowledge that it is not her fault, but her father's, but she is guilty by omission, but how many times have we seen extremely toxic parents, but it is fine in the end just because they are the main leads. I insist, the only difference is that the 2FL is not FL.

I do want the main leads to get together, since that is the whole point, but I hope the writers did a good job resolving matters with their former relationships back on earth before they move forward with their newfound feelings.

I feel like I've seen you comment A LOT about this certain topic on different dramas, who hurt you, and why are…
I like the concept of this app/website, since it allow us to interact about different shows in Dramaland, which is why I have been able to write a few reviews and like interacting in the comments section, but I wouldn't call it a LOT, like I am spamming or something.

I don't want to say that I am experienced since there are many who have been watching K-Dramas, C-Dramas and Doramas for a lot longer, but I think I have watched a fair share which is why I have seen this trope happen multiple times, and I don't complain because "I have been hurt" (rude), but because I don't like the trope itself, and if you take the time to read what I wrote you will notice that regardless of that, I still believe the trope can be executed properly if the acting and writing is good. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to watch something with one or more elements that you don't like and that's fine, but it doesn't mean that the actual trope is poorly executed most of the times and simp virgin men characters are pitiful at best. I don't know about you, but I watch dramas to feel good and rewarded, which means that I don't mind problems as long as the solution makes up for the angst of the problem, and the case in tropes like this (hopefully not for this show) is that male lead's feelings don't really matter, so his suffering doesn't matter either and it is sad that it doesn't matter for him as well, which is what makes this whole trope sad.

The other way around would also be annoying, if the guy is a womanizer that has a pure virgin simp girl waiting for him in his hometown where she still have to break her back to get a chance and even fight with other girls just to get his attention or something.

It is not personal, and it is just my opinion, which I know for a fact that many users here in MDL share.

And finally, I still watch these dramas because while I don't like the trope I make my extremely tiny contribution watching these dramas. Go tell someone else to move on or whatever, or not, but let us express your opinion however we want while you keep liking your unbalanced love tropes.

My first Kdrama and I am addicted ever since.
I should rewatch this since as far as I remember, this is lighthearted but good one!

I am one of those who defends the main couple's romance most of the times because the main leads are supposed to be together, and I also agree with main leads getting a free pass for behaviors that done by any other character would be extremely annoying. However, I still find hard to overlook things like cheating, and I don't have the patience for another love triangle right now...

It is very sad how praised and supposedly very professional writers and producers can't come up with something better. I personally hate love triangles, which an extremely overused trope. I am glad that they are somewhat normal people with a past, but as you just mentioned, they have a lot of elements they could have used before throwing us into love squares and cheating with what seems to be a high budget show with high profile actors...

Yeah... to be fair, if the writing and the acting is good, they can re use every trope and cliche and still get us invested in the show, so let's cross our fingers and hope for the best...

That's exactly my point... I am curious about how the writers will manage this topic because both leads seem to have a relationship with someone back on earth. We are supposed to cheer for the main couple, but this one could be tricky because regardless of the "excuse" that the male lead didn't know what was love until now or whatever excuse the create for FL, I know that they will start flirting and falling for each other before they break up with the person on earth (if they ever do instead of being dicks and just get in a relationship regardless like nobody is waiting for them back home). I love both actors playing the leads, and while I love that we don't have the standard virgin simp, I hoped they would be single at least, but again, let's see how they handle things here...

It hurts that these are supposed to be professional writers, but they don't really write... they just use the same tropes and cliches without anything really new over and over again...

Are you that naive..? The synopsis won't give you the plot twist which most likely will be that she gets terminally ill or one of her family members, that her career failed, a scandal or depression, but I highly doubt that she will return just because she missed home...

That works! there is nothing bad with the girl going out to the world and meeting people along the way; the problem is that while the girl goes to live her own love and be her best self, and experience her sexuality, the guy stays waiting only for her only to even when she is back and with her past still need to prove himself and chase after her and even compete with a love triangle which most likely is someone from her past that has seen her naked or something... ouch ...

That or another simp that only gets the courage to go after her when this guy (ML) finally makes a move after 10 years, like waiting 10 years wasn't enough... lol
