I think this applies to most dramas. Most cases because characters become more stupid just for tropes to happen...

True, but not entirely... I won't say that MDL will define the popularity of a show but it can either help a little or make a dent. Many people use MDL and some come here and check rating and comments before watching, which means that a percentage of possible viewers will watch or not after checking MDL just to be sure.

Hopefully, the story is good enough to keep you watching...

Let me guess ... This is another story where the girl leaves for her own happiness abandoning friends and family only to fail miserably to return to a man that has simped for her his whole live. She most likely has had a few boyfriends, had intimacy and almost got married to one (or at least thought about it while ML is a pure virgin and perfect bachelor that only has eyes for FL... Nothing wrong with the girl going for her dreams and living her life, but poor miserable guy...

Hopefully he has a girlfriend or two, while FL was having a healthy and active sexual live with other guys for 12 years...

Yes, from both love triangles, and is the worst. After watching the doctor guy persistence it is hard to believe that someone will be more than that, but that girl did that! Thankfully, I still find her less annoying because the Male Lead was always setting boundaries with her.

Additionally, there is also a girl that has a crush on the male lead and thinks that everyone else is beneath her and only she is a match for him. She will also behave like she is extremely close with him regardless of the many times that ML calls her out in that attitude. However, this doesn't make a dent on their relationship either.

Yes, there is a love triangle from episode 1 since the female lead's ex is trying to get her back, but he doesn't make a dent in the main leads relationship, he is just a bit annoying every time he shows with his persistence.

You seem to forget that main leads get a free pass for most things that would be unacceptable and very annoying if done by any other character...
