Finished watching this movie for the third time and still was left speechless by this movie. It is that beautiful. This movie serves as a proof that you don't need to have plot twist or other crowd-baiting factors to make a great movie. You just need solid story and acting! The cinematography is superb as well!
I think this is the first time that I watch a Japanese movie that tackles the issue of Korean mix race this way?…
Try watching Jdorama "Kokoro no kizu wo iyasu to iu koto". The main lead is Zainichi Korean and he also had a struggle with his background while living in Japan
The ending left me hanging with a huge question mark!! I have too many interpretations : is he her ex? which is…
I think this movie revolves around the idea of 'identity'. The lawyer seemed to have a 'complex' about his background as a "Zainichi Korean", resulting in him identifying himself with the dead man. In the end, just like how the Taniguchi family decided to look past the dead man's previous identity, the lawyer tried to accept his own identity and live his current life. But, it all crumbled down when he found out his wife infidelity. He probably felt like he was living a lie hence his pretense in the final scene.
Great performance by all actors, especially Kang Haneul. The movie was grounded in real story about a wrongfully imprisoned man who has been living in misery but eventually got his due justice with the help of a lawyer who tried to make a fresh start of his career. In other words, it has a very good premise to begin with. However, the delivery just came short. It is not bad, but it is not quite there. The characters, aside from Jo Hyun Woo, lack depth and I think could had been explored better. Do watch it if you are curious or want to see stellar acting by Kang Haneul, but honestly, there are a lot of better movies out there.
Yes, Behind Your Touch is much better than this one. But this one is fun also.
It's good that you enjoy the drama. For me, after episode 4, the drama was not enjoyable at all. I tried to keep watching it but gave up after episode 12 :'(
When I watch the first few episodes I thought this one had similar premise and vibe with Behind Your Touch. But, now, I feel bad for even comparing the two dramas. This drama is below par. I could look past the acting, but the story *sigh* is just ridiculous, both the romance part and mystery part. Terrible.
Good premise, starting out okay, then spiralling into a chaos! I watched the first half of the show thanks to the personality of Cha Min Hoo and Hong Yeseul, but then all of the characters turn dumb after the leads got into the relationship. The plot's messy too.
I beg to differ from the comment below. This movie is deep.. giving you a glimpse of the hardships faced by zainichi korean... and eventhough the plot shows events spanning only a few days, the sadness and emotions linger for much longer time. I recommend this movie
Watching this makes me feels like having an older sister who guided me through things happening in life. It highlighted many emotional and societal subjects, but in a light-hearted manner. And as someone who's been studying Japanese and living in Japan, this drama is super insightful as it manifested Japanese way of life and thinking.
Expecting it to be as good as Code Blue, but turn out to be quite subpar. The shots are pretty, but the story's premise and depth of the characters are quite underwhelming. Dropped it after watching 3 episodes.
Unlike many others who said that the beginning of this drama is the boring part, I think it's actually the best part. It gives you this eerie and unsettling feeling. The ending is kind of a shame though. It's not bad, but could definitely be better. I have to agree with other comments that say it feels rushed and too conveniently written. Still, I'd recommend this drama to anyone who love suspenseful mystery drama.
What's bad about this movie? That is the only thing that is good in this movie.
