Yes, I think that's why the director and writer (!!!) pick the halfway point to have the separation because there is another half story to tell. The redemption cannot be a three-minute knife of forgiveness/coma C-Drama redemption, but a slow descent of ML suffering huge losses and watching some rival dude making his XuYan smile.

And the getting back-together has to been a nice arc of how the relationship is now different from the first half. The confession part must show the audience his regret.

I'm excited. I hope the director and writer won't let me down. They haven't thus far!

Well, in this story, Hao Ming will suffer a setback as never before and actually needs his ex's help for a comeback. But we shall see how it's done.

HM's world is going to implode. He then sees how his ex has been more than just a trophy wife who helps him with business. His father will also be a bastard like him. He begins to question his past actions. Then he sees his ex- thriving without his money and backing and realizes...well, I won't tell the whole story LOL. Just hopeful the suffering will be done right so the audience will go ahhhhhhh yes, whoop his ass XuYan before taking him back.

In my writing, if I want a happy ending, I like to trap the couple with another explosive revelation. Heh.

A morally grey person who has been able to calculate people's next moves all this life meets someone who finally surprises him. And defeats him. And gives him the worst loss of his life. He isn't stupid--he should realize all the wrong steps he took regarding this other person.

I like his character too. This show is all about being morally grey/grey characters (except for that cray cray 2FL haha) and so I enjoy each of their decision. I definitely enjoy how the story is riling up the viewers too. I've never seen such anticipation for the divorce of the year just because they want the ML to grovel. It's going to be fun if the director does this part right!
