Thank you for such a thoughtful post about morally grey characters as leads. They are interesting dichotomies because they reflect what the viewers' (or readers' because I read morally grey anti-heroes in my books) line is. Cross one line and some say no while others are okay with. He takes one more step, crosses another line, and it hits another group of readers. For me, it's a fun exercise to watch as I read the discourse here and on various forums. Perhaps I'm morally grey myself because I like to play with audience's/readers' emotions too, haha.

And XL was my book boyfriend for years, LOL. Yes, I became unfaithful because XJX is the Perfect Bad Boy who loved his Bad Girl Empress to bits and pieces. #gushing

Not really. I ready Malicious Empress ten times. The character is vicious and EPIC. I want LuSi for that role so badly but it's impossible to write a good script without the rebirth factor.
