No, actually this is the order of things. I’m going to be super brief because the details are too much.

1) Ah Yin cures Ao Ge
2) Truth about Ah Yin’s lifespan
3) Gu Jin desperate and somewhere around these episodes he went off to look for meds to prolong her life
4) Meds didn’t work
5) meanwhile Hua Shu stuff happening. Bad things brewing.
6) Ah Yin almost dead. Hair white. Gu Jin rushes her off to see BiBo.
7) VERY BAD THINGS HAPPEN ON MT DAZE
8) Ah Yin got cure. The two rush back but there was A VERY BAD INCIDENT and HongYi is implicated.
9) War. Gu Jin becomes Yuanqi.
10) Ah Yin did something. War imminent.
11) Yuanqi/Gu Jin is now a true god and has to punish Ah Yin. He thinks taking away her fairy bone would “protect” her.
12) He did not know Ah Yin had already suffered thunder strikes from Hua Shu, so he inadvertently killed his beloved.

I’m not sure what you mean by your “bad ass.” If you think she’s going to kungfu her way through the last episodes, then you’ll be disappointed 🤣. If you mean that she’ll hold her own against those two biotches, then yeah, she will.

My favorite one! But Jin Chen also killed the FL Lolol. Like she said, when she came back as a goddess, a cut is still a cut, your killing me was painful. 😂 It took a while for her to forgive him too. The chase was marvelous. Two seasoned actors like them brought their A game!

Because his power has been unsealed, and he is no longer Gu Jin but is Yanqqi. He is basically going to go through what his parents underwent in TLP. that’s why he told Ah Yin to stop calling him Ah Jin. Ah Jin is gone at that point. Now you know why he never wanted to cultivate. With god power comes god responsibilities.

I keep seeing posts about why this Ah Yin arc is so long. I’ll try to answer with my perspective.

Gu Jin first ask The Rock to let him find FengYin’s soul pieces. The Rick said there will be a tribulation. Ah Jin agrees.

Ah Yin is Gu Jin’s tribulation. So that’s why this arc is long. He has to make all these mistakes so that he loses Ah Yin. The Rock demands this so that the Phoenix can be reborn. Of course Ah Jin never realized this until too late.

Ah Yin’s arc is long so we can see how much he hurt her and that’s why he couldn’t find her for 1000 years. He was hurting for 1000 years before he spied her on the way to her 20someth reincarnation.

His redemption arc begins then. Remember, in a way, Gu Jin also doesn’t exists any more. He is now Yuan Qi. This is similar to the middle and end arcs of Ancient Love Poetry when the middle incarnations disappeared and Shanggu and Baijue came back all-powerful and distant.

Remember, Ah Yin is his tribulation. He asked for this. His punishment for wanting to revive Feng Yin is losing Ah Yin. The Rock asked him first and he accepted.

Ok, this was in the book so don’t know that’s how it is in the drama, okay? His punishment was fair— since Ah Yin used her magic to help the devil clan (because of Hong Yi’s actions), his only choice was to take away her fairy bone. This was not supposed to kill her. It was his only way to protect her (in his logic). But Ah Yin had been punished with thunder strikes by Peacock without his knowing it. So his big sword thingy using thunder strikes killed Ah Yin.
THIS was Yanqqi’s real tribulation. The Rock asked him whether he would really want to suffer to get Phoenix back and he said he would. Well, this was the suffering he would have to endure for 1000 years, the guilt and knowing he killed his beloved.

Did you see the trailers of him pursuing Feng Yin and carrying her off over his shoulder while she was protesting? 🤣 something to look forward to, eh?

In xanxia they need to show suffering and humiliation. If they hurry over the angst and get to the revenge part, then it would be Wuxia.

Actually, if you compare this drama with many of the other famous ones, it has very few fillers and is actually moving at a crisp pace.

I’m kinda into Ao Ge and her as a pairing bwahaha.
