I don't really see that as a trope but reality. Namcha is 7 years younger than Irin which for most is wrong since…
I get what you are saying but what you mentioned isn't the case here both characters were not dating to begin with so technically their is no break up. Also, the female lead her grandfather doesn't approve if their relationship since he wants her to marry his lawyer as he can protect and provide for both her and her sister when he dies. Which the male lead namcha can't do that because he is "young". However, trust me this show has a lesson to it, it's bigger than the whole "I can't be with you because you are younger than me."
why is it suddenly okay that a 17 year old high schooler (namcha) is dating his 7 year older neighbor (irin)?…
First of all, you have to consider the laws in Thailand. The age of consent is different in different countries and most countries in the East it's not 18. Furthermore, it's really not that bad considering they weren't doing anything sexual but dating. You are making it seem as if she was grooming him or something, which is not the case. Furthermore, she (Irin) knows that she is way too old for him, which is why she kept it a secret about them dating, even though he wanted to be exclusive and now that they are both adults, she still doesn't allow for him to talk about it. When people secretly date, it's not official but because the other person doesn't want to hurt that person's feelings.
I hate the trope of... I'm break up with you because you're younger...society unaccepting....I love noona romance…
I don't really see that as a trope but reality. Namcha is 7 years younger than Irin which for most is wrong since society doesn't do well with huge age gap. In the case of the show, Irin's grandfather is not accepting of Namcha because he is way to young for her and everyone seems to think that he is immature and childish considering his age. Furthermore, this seems to anger and annoy Namcha because he doesn't judge people. Then, Irin she comes off as a realist because she aware of the fact that she is way older than him, which is why she never likes it when Namcha talks about them dating back when they were in school or when he makes advances on her. She does like him, which is why she doesn't like it when other women interact with him or she gets jealous. However, she knows that everyone won't accept because of the big age gap.
Agree..Even when Thyme and Ren were talking about how they want Gorya by their side and fullfill their dreams..No…
Okay, thank you for reminding me, because it's been a long time and I went back and Gorya is going for some type of sport since she was on an athletic scholarship.
He is in High school since his uniform pants is black and not blue for middle schooler's. Also, he is most likely…
No, he is not in middle school because in Thailand their uniform is blue but his is black, so he is in high school and most likely she is in business considering in the trailer she was in a business meeting. I think regardless of what age they were them being 7 years is an issue which is why she was "secretly" dating him, which isn't officially dating someone, it's just another way to not hurt that person that has feelings for you. Which is why she ends up marrying the guy that her grandfather/father approved of. Hence, the show isn't out yet but I'm going based off the trailer.
So the girl was in university and the boy is 7 years younger than her, which makes him a middle schooler when…
He is in High school since his uniform pants is black and not blue for middle schooler's. Also, he is most likely in his second to last year of High school. And no that is not bad since he is closer to graduating just like she is a 7 year age gab is not that bad.
Agree..Even when Thyme and Ren were talking about how they want Gorya by their side and fullfill their dreams..No…
We never got what she wanted to do in other versions (from my memories), the closest thing was that she did look up to Mira. Also, we don't even know what the other F4 members want to do with the exception of Thyme. Since, thyme's whole purpose was to own the family business to make his mother happy, which he accomplished, Mj and Kavin are currently in college and Ren is just enjoying life as he is going to attend Mira's wedding and for Gorya she is still in High school, so she has more time, but I do know is that marriage is most likely the next step since Thyme was going to propose to her but wanted her to make that call.
Agree..Even when Thyme and Ren were talking about how they want Gorya by their side and fullfill their dreams..No…
Actually that's not true, Thyme already accomplished his dreams which is why he came back from the US and he told Gorya that it was now up to her and what she wanted to do. He was going to propose to her but wanted her to make the call since she hasn't yet finished school.
I have a question: F4, Gorya and Kaning were in highschool or in college?Sometimes I saw Kaning in highschool…
Gorya and Kaning are both in Highschool, but they go to two completely different schools. Because Gorya is on an athletic scholarship which is why she able to attend that school even though she is poor. Also keep in mind that now that the F4 members have graduated both Mj and Kavin are now in college, so it makes sense.
Kavin told Kaning the whole story in the car, like Thyme told Gorya. I think they used the story telling very…
"There's non leading to that ep. It's starts in ep 12 and ends with ep 13. Before that there wasn't any serious or noteworth development towards it. The episode itself is rushed."
When it comes to the development just because you didn't see doesn't mean everyone else didn't see it. Nina Vang just explained to you the noteworthy amount of development between ep 12 and 13. Furthermore, f4 Thailand is more than that just remaking such a classic drama, they have even taken it upon themselves to add meaning to the character's outfit through colors, metaphors, locations, and dialogue. There are plenty of YouTube videos you can watch of people analyzing these episodes so you can understand the development and depth.
"Also not you saying Kavin's background is useless bc he's just a sidechara. This is funny bc y'all always praise it for flashing out the sidecharas and 16 with an hour runtime is a lot of time."
Yes, his background information is useless because he is a side character. As I just explained, he is not the Main character so we don't need to know about his family other than the fact that he is rich just like the other members of F4. Furthermore, we are not praising the director for fleshing out side character, except for Mj. If you had read/watch the source material and /or other versions you would know that Mj's character is the only one who isn't consistent and just is there. However, Kavin has always been a consistent character along side Thyme and Ren. When it comes to Kavin's character we just care about him ending up with Kaning. Furthermore, they are following the run time for the 2005 Japanese version which is why everything is like this, which I'm not complaining about. Moreover, this version doesn't have fillers like the previous versions because at this point you should know the story.

I agree, there was a buildup. If you go back to like episode 2 and to this episode than you can see how it all comes together in a full circle. Kavin constantly warned Kaning about himself. Not only that but Kavin even went out of his way to brag about himself being a playboy when Kaning was experiencing her first heartbreak and he had an expression of regret. Then, when she stood up to him as he tried to manipulate her into telling Gorya to not pursue Thyme. Which Mj thought that she was going to be another girl falling for him since she asked for his phone number. Which just like Thyme that what made him intrigued by her since she didn't fall for him but stood up to him. Furthermore, I'm sick and tired of people thinking the Korean version was all that since for it being 24 or 25 episodes it was draggy and had scenes that was completely useless to the over plot. The adding of Kavin's family background is useless information since he is NOT the Main Character. At this point, if anyone is mad then they need to take it up with Kamio Yoko, the author and creator of Hana Yori Dango.

"The latest episode felt like filler to me because they shoved both Kavin/Kaning and Thyme/Gorya getting together into one episode. They each should have been given their own episodes. Because of the limited screentime it felt like Kavin was just settling for Kaning and Mona was his true love—and I've been waiting for Kavin and Kaning to get together since the beginning! Kaning felt like sloppy seconds which is lame."
They couldn't give Kavin and Kaning their own episode because they are the secondary couple. Which if you watch most dramas whether it be Japanese, Chinese, or Korean, they don't get much screentime because the story isn't centered around them. Furthermore, to break everything down, Kavin's character is complex because he didn't want to cross the line with Mona since they are good friends. He left a piece of himself with Mona and that's why he constantly goes to clubs, have one nights stands with women as he tries to get self Fullment emotionally through sex. Kaning tries to understand why he doesn't commit which he explains the Mona thing, which they both had feelings for each other, but Kavin tries to hide because he is still hung up over her. Which is why Kaning had to go out of her way to put her feelings on the back burner and help him solve something that might be close to him. Of course, he needed to closure to realize what was important to him which was Kaning. Mona had told Kavin that what she did for him is something that she couldn't do for him. And again, his plotline is in the other versions, but this was well written and executed because it was more from a psychological standpoint.
Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think we ever got to see the consequences of gun pyo and ming zi actions…
I wouldn't go as for as saying that this is a consequence. Because if we are going to make this a consequence the best thing was for Thyme to go to jail or something along those lines (which we know isn't going to happen). Gorya getting kidnap is a bad thing yes but this doesn't really affect Thyme since...1. He isn't the same person he used to be. And if he never had took a interest in Gorya this would have not happened (talay plan that is).On the other hand, he is in love with Gorya so this would probably be the first time that he is protecting her, which is more so a positive thing than negative. Because Ren has always been the one to protect her.2. Him getting his butt whooped is nothing. 3. He is rich for God's sake and at this point Talay is playing with fire. From a realistic perspective, we live in a capitalist world here money talks, so if anything Thyme's mom could go after him.Furthermore, this doesn't have anything to do with the red card since it was obvious that Thyme didn't declare it. Since Talay was saying stuff that was a bit of a red flag. And even though Gorya didn't listen to Thyme when he was warning her and instead listened to Talay. I just found it quite funny how the 3 mean girls had a bit of confusion that it couldn't have been Thyme rather than Gorya. In the end, this was about cause and effects. If someone hits you, more likely you are going to hit them back. Because Thyme did something in this case bad their was going to be an effect. Sorry for the post 😅
Do you know Maslow's Heirarchy of Needs? Gorya is at the bottom of the pyramid, focusing on physical needs and…
I agree with every comment, I feel like people are not trying to understand Thymes's perspective, if not both sides. I feel like what people don't understand is that she is not the only one with problems and her problems are not that trivial. She has the freedom to live her life the way she wants. Unlike Thyme who after he graduate is going to be thrown into the family business by default and he can't even choose who he wants to live with for the rest of his life with. Furthermore, Gorya does comes off as selfish because she doesn't want to understand his world. However, what I find funny is that Kanning is trying to understand since Kavin allows her to see into his world. Kavin talks to Kanning in a deeper way and explains things to her especially if it's about Thyme's situation. (Ep 9, where he explains to Kanning that Thyme's mom, Roselyn was smart enough to kill to two birds with one stone by having thyme marry Lita since her family is suited enough. Since they also are good business partners as well.)
