Just from watching the ZJBxYTC deleted scenes so many times while subbing I have some commentary on this couple…
I saw some people wondering about the first scene and what exactly was happening. It's ZJB playing his mind games - YTC knowingly eats the porridge hoping to die from his allergy, but then ZJB already has the doctor standing by, shattering YTC's hope. It's quite messed up.. yes it's torture like what ZJB quotes in the scene. He is so twisted... Watching these two scenes while I'm subbing I can't help but think how completely opposite their relationship is compared to JYL/CYZ. So toxic and destructive... it really couldn't have ended any other way because neither of them could change.

So glad you are enjoying it! It really is a masterpiece, and so underrated. I would recommend you finish watching the drama first then go on to the extras like the deleted scenes, audio drama and the book. Just my personal preference though, as for me the drama is the original and I use this as a basis for using my imagination when it comes to the other non-visual materials.

I've done some quick subs for YTC & ZJB deleted scenes - added to the deleted scenes thread. Had to fudge 1 or 2 lines, otherwise pretty basic so could do it by ear. Not too sure about the BTS - without Chinese subs it's hard to catch what some of them say. Ian Yi is hard to understand without subs - it's his deep voice and dialect I think!

No I don't think he could ever forgive himself hence the ending shot of him sitting by himself, reminiscing... I also go back to the alternate endings to cheer me up, so it's okay :)
