She also described the mathematician and doctor's first sexual encounter as "near rape," which I still cannot get over because as I responded, she pretty much offered herself to him, he started kissing her passionately and then withdrew.

I totally get what you're saying. I fear he's going to reach a low point because of what we saw in the first episode, but I hope it happens soon so he can overcome it and be happy again and working on the rebuild with his lover and best friend. I hope Xiao Dan doesn't ever stop loving him. Thankfully, I can watch Love Story in the 1970s after each of these episodes to pick up my spirits again, lol.

I agree. They dress in the style of the kids their age, just like every generation of high schoolers who are not poor. But why were the uniform skirts so long? Don't think I've seen that in any HS series, lol.

He's a bit of a dick. He may have been being extra nice to Yi Lan to encourage Xiao Le to confess, but he was also leading the girl on because now she thinks he's interested in her. Also, he's a grown up and shouldn't be playing with her or the ML like that.

I am an American watching from the US and really enjoying the series. I do find it rather melancholy though and my heart aches for Xioaman. Praying for a happy ending for him the most.

I want her "dirty little secret" to be exposed. She is such a vile human being. I initially wanted her to get knocked up and left by her dolt of a boyfriend, but cannot wish her on an innocent child, lol.

I am definitely interested in them and predict their relationship will be on fire, as the kids say, lol. I also think she challenges him in a way that he finds intriguing. Wondering what the deal is with Yan, though. Could she be dead?
