You are absolutely entitled to feel the way you do and I hope I did not offend. I just get kind of frustrated when people expect great maturity in love from young adults who are just learning about love. Even though they didn't date, they were in the same friend group and for whatever reason that I admit I cannot fathom, she developed a mad crush on him. But I agree with a redditor who said he's more in her head than her heart.
I think ML says "you pick" because even though he's praying she picks him, he really just wants her to know how he feels but absolutely does not want her to feel under any pressure herself. Sullen Second Male Lead kind of shattered her confidence a bit and Loving Male Lead is building it back up by being patient, and kind, and guiding her professional growth. He even tells her they are growing together, work wise. They are building a really lovely friendship that will form the basis of a super strong romantic relationship.
I also don't think she is fragile at all. Except for the hospital and hotel tears, she's held it together and when ML gave her those shitty assignments, she handled them like a trooper.
