Loved Yanxi palace could not watch fully 2nd time though, however if you are not into harem dramas its very heavily loaded with that type of theme, the production and cast for me was excellent and I liked it better than Ruyis Love In The Palace, dropped that towards the end, it just became so cruel that I couldn’t stomach the behaviour of the emperor and his latest favourite conquest. I would be interested to know what you think about Yanxi if you ever watch it, would love to read your review on it.

I have never seen the original version and I love that slice of history, I did like the more modern version with TJC a few years ago and loved MaTianYu also in it. Which 2 versions are you referring to? I could never get the oldest version in my area.

Yes, I agree, the romance in these dramas is lately being shoved down our throats and its so boring, I loved Advisors Alliance with allot of pauses to read the subtitles and understand it properly, Nirvana In Fire plot easier to understand. This one although a bit of dialogue is still not too bad to endure. Sadly I also agree this year is looking disappointing in drama releases so far.

Absolutely wow, in 2 months. As I said before what a little gem for us to watch, I love the quirky aspect and the freshness of the story and cast. Dont laugh but I actually dont mind Ning either.
