Guys, are they still filming? I don’t see any video or BTS footage anymore, so I'm just wondering. It's like…
Filming is still ongoing. It’s just taking place in indoor studios where paparazzi have no access. Everyone else is strictly prohibited from filming the actors. Moreover, the actress playing the female lead doesn’t have a large fan club, so there aren’t and won’t be many photos or videos.

This one have no hope, isn't it? A Dream within a Dream going to be release this month and Li Yi Tong filmed that…
No one knows for sure. In China, a release can be announced in the morning, and the first episodes might drop later that same day.
This drama was shelved due to criticism from the original manga author regarding China’s politics. The platform even tried to buy the rights to the manga as well, aiming to remove the author’s name from the drama credits. However, the author refused.
Now there are rumors that Japan might be interested in acquiring the rights to the series, similar to what happened with another drama, Justice in the Dark.
What will come of this, or whether it’s even true, remains uncertain.

This people are really nuts. FL's character upgraded from week person to powerful girl and they say she is stealing…
If Legend really does air in the second half of the year, then most likely it will be after the filming of this drama is finished.
Because Deng Wei doesn’t like interrupting shooting schedules.
Of course, it’s possible that Legend might not get a full promotional campaign,
but personally, I find that hard to believe.

I completely agree with you.
Looking at how the team treats him — the car, the men with umbrellas, the orthopedic footwear, the amazing costumes, and today’s zongzi — I feel reassured too.
But recently, even in usually calm fan groups, panic posts have started to appear again.
That’s why I decided to ask what’s really going on.

I always remind myself of the words Wei-ge said during the wrap-up speech for TLODT:
“Believe in me, just as I believe in you.”
I think if Wei-ge is calm, then we should keep faith in his choices too.
Thank you for your reply.

P.S. When will Legend finally air?
It would really help Weiwei.

On one hand, I understand such concerns. When Tushan Jing's scenes were cut in the second part, some were given to other characters, and he himself was almost removed from the plot until the end of the title. Many viewers were unpleasantly surprised by this turn of events, and thus they don't want something similar to happen again.

I also know that directors can rework the script as they please, even after filming begins. Because none of the fans have actually seen the script, everyone is counting those minutes and the number of scenes.
On The Days of Seclusion and Love May 31, 2025
Who have access to Chinese resources, could you please tell me if it's true that they have started rewriting the script again? Only this time, for the female lead. Because I've heard similar information from two sources

Thank you for the reply. That would be wonderful both for history enthusiasts and for Deng Wei’s career. I really want to see him play an antagonist.
Because I’m already in despair. Such a great drama (I hope), and it’s just sitting on the shelf.

What good things have you heard about Legend?
Because a few days ago, I was told that the author refused to sell the rights, so the drama won't be released. Do you have any different information?

Though belatedly, I’ll join the discussion.
When Deng Wei joined Lost You Forever, he was no longer a complete newbie — he had just finished filming Till the End of the Moon.
Aside from shooting in cold water, spending almost entire days in wounded Ye Shiqi makeup, full-day training on the rocks, and frequently fainting, he often had to wait for a free makeup room. Even his meals were delivered late. And this was for an actor playing, if not the main, then still a leading role.
The treatment of young actors in China is worse than that of the homeless.

That’s why seeing three men running around with umbrellas for Wei-jie now is both funny and a little sad.

Thank you for the link. But I have a question: the stickers have the PH logo — so is this a gift to the fans from Deng Wei himself, or from his brand? (There is a difference, of course.)
Also, I was really impressed by the black croissants — I wonder what they taste like? :)

Many people are quite mistaken when it comes to Deng Wei’s introversion.
It’s worth recalling his Monsterboy phase, when he was extremely active on social media, experimenting with his appearance and posting not-so-modest photos publicly.

This side of him was clearly visible during the LODT promotions, where he interacted wonderfully with fans and colleagues.
Even during the filming of TTEOTM, he was open, happily chatted with fans, and took photos with them.

However, after several scandals triggered by the agency he refused to sign a contract with, Deng Wei chose a strategy of almost complete withdrawal from the public eye.
He can go months without logging into social media — and as for content, well, there's hardly anything to say.

As for the fandom — I agree with you. It felt a bit too much, in my opinion.
But I’m from the European part of the continent, so perhaps I just don’t fully grasp these cultural nuances.
On the other hand, Deng Wei hadn’t been on a filming set for about 15 months, which is a really long time by Chinese standards — so the excitement is somewhat understandable.

Unfortunately, the Xiaohongshu link you shared leads to a login page, so I couldn’t see the treats either.

Oh god, um imagine his hair to be at least similar to SYS or so but his hair in this drama makes him look like…
I recommend remembering that in the novel, the male lead is not entirely a positive character, so this hairstyle actually aligns well with the concept of his persona.
You should also check out Deng Wei’s looks in the drama *Take Me Where the Clouds Rise*. He had various hairstyles and makeup styles there, and fans were thrilled with similar visuals.

Also, it’s worth noting that the creators of the drama are unlikely to cater too much to fans of the original novel, since the script has been reworked and may have almost nothing in common with the novel aside from the characters’ names and the historical era.

People on Weibo love to blow issues out of proportion and throw hate at Deng Wei at every opportunity.
Let’s not bring that negativity here.

I have no idea. I only became interested in this drama when it was announced that Deng Wei would play the lead role

I saw the booting ceremony and came here to know who is the FL but looks like the comments also don't have idea😅…
Due to the ambiguous nature of the heroine, who is a courtesan in the novella (even in the censored version), Li Wanda is concerned about her reputation. She does not wish to take part in explicit scenes. If the parties manage to resolve this issue, she is most likely to play the role. Another actress, who is interested in taking on the role, is also being considered. So for now, we can only wait.

Totally hear you and I get where you're coming from, you’ve got some solid takes for sure. But let’s be honest…
He was standing in the front row, but when he started running, there were already soldiers in front of him. Even if we imagine that everyone started moving forward at the same time, Wei Shao would’ve had to overtake them. I rewatched that scene two or three times as well.

Well, if you're only interested in romance, then that explains it. I was hoping to see a bit more than just kisses.

I would have gladly done so, but the tags "political" and "historical" suggested there would be more than just kisses — I expected interesting plot twists, intrigue, smart characters, and epic battles, not just romance. Not to mention the siege scene, where the city gates didn’t even have a bar on the inside. And the moment when the FL had to choose side to run to — Wei Shao was standing in front of the soldiers, and then suddenly he was in the center, and those poor 2 meters she ran looked like at least 20 😅
If this were just a fluffy romance series, I wouldn't pay much attention to these things, but it's a full-fledged title with a decent budget

People had different preferences. If u don’t like, why watch and complain.
To understand whether you like a movie or not, you need to watch it, right? So what does your comment have to do with it? I pointed out the obvious flaws in the team's work that are hard to miss. Are we only allowed to comment if we’re praising the series? Are we not allowed to talk about its shortcomings?
On The Prisoner of Beauty May 16, 2025
Well, I mean, I do see the “romance” tag, but do some scenes really have to be shot this clumsily? For 8 episodes Wei Shao is prancing around like a cheerful little goat, and only after the scene where Man talks about his headaches do we finally get a moment where he sort of stretches his neck. Really?

The lid of the rice seed box almost fell off twice on its own, and the letter was lying right on top, in plain sight—yet of course no one saw it. The prince is supposed to be all clever and cunning, but apparently never checks his wife’s mail, huh.

The hunting scene—pure cringe. Did you see those rabbits? Couldn't they afford decent CGI?

The pillow with the “suggestive” pattern—of course. The maids chose to keep quiet and put their lady in an awkward position—loyalty, right?

And the general who spilled everything even though the prince told him five minutes earlier to keep his mouth shut—just, facepalm.

And the scenes where the female lead acts all childishly offended at the prince were so poorly acted. Same with the prince’s “decision” to come back to the bedroom.

Honestly, I was hoping this would be a solid historical-romance drama—maybe not overflowing with content, but at least well-written and coherent. So far, it’s the Liu Yuning fans keeping the ratings up—credit to them, really. But personally, I find the main couple’s relationship development very unclear, the fight scenes and animal effects are bad (I’ll remember that boar running back and forth for a long time), the female lead’s behavior lacks consistency, and the male lead isn’t any better.

I still hope it gets more interesting later on.
