I started watching this drama with no expectations at all. After The Legend of Magnate there hadn’t really been anything that interested me and surprisingly I ended up absolutely loving it. The acting, pace, music, and costumes are all epic. I even learned a bit about Chinese history along the way.

I usually watch dramas at 1.5x or even 2x speed but with this one I actually had to rewind certain scenes bcs I wanted to really understand what was going on. It’s truly an excellent and captivating drama. A solid 10/10!

Im on eps 30 and so far Shuiqiu Zhao Guan is the coolest character for me hehe! (I wonder if he really existed or if he was created just for the drama).

Big age gap in a relationship is understandable as long as both parties are adult and single. But big age gap in an extramarital relationship? *sigh*

Some Jdoramas are really good, but some others are testing our patience and really hard to comprehend/understand, this series is 1 of the latter.

Great plot, pace, acting, and love love the costume!

Up to eps 9 too here, the drama shows how confident the hunters of Mountain Society are when they're about to face the Earth Fiend, including Jie Luo. This is what made me hope they would be able to defeat those monsters.
Perhaps the scriptwriter should avoid portraying the hunters as too confident in the earlier episodes, so that viewers do not set their expectations too high hehe

Will there be other individuals in the Mountain Society who are skilled at fighting the Earth Fiends besides Jie Luo? I find it surprising that the other members of the Society are only good at showing off but always end up getting defeated..

That's possible. Based on the many Jdramas that hv similar topics, they seem to be more accepting to some kind of relationships that are taboos for others, like incest, having romantic relationship with minors, cheating, etc.

I guess it's hard for us to understand their concept of relationship. 😅🙈
