I'm coming back here to say AGAIN - Nam Gyu was the biggest GREEN FLAG and deserved better..
He definitely didn’t deserve what happened to him but I did find it off putting that he showed up near Go Young’s place and wouldn’t take no for an answer. He wasn’t a bad person but idk about a green flag.
I’m not sure that “better person,” simply meant financially stable. As you said they could be in a relationship…
It looks like we’re in agreement. Wether he tries to get better and how he goes about that was left open so I guess we won’t know unless there’s a continuation. I never denied that the road to getting better is incredibly hard but its something that’s necessary, I also think therapy comes in many different forms, what it takes most of all is time and self-awareness.Regardless of how or why though I just think there’s still a lot of aspects to work on that prevented a relationship at the time as much as I really wanted a kiss from them but oh well 😞 I’m glad we’re in agreement over how good this show is though.

I feel like I've reiterated my point as much as I could and that it’s still being missed based on your responses. Balgeum’s financial status isn’t the issue, his mental health is, thats why it’s important that he doesn’t just work towards a career but also focuses on changing his mindset so that if anything happens he won’t ruin their relationship again. But its okay we can just agree to disagree : ) Also I would definitely consider Balgeum a neurotic character, probably one of the most I've seen in BL but it’s one of my favorite archetypes so I don’t mind. I personally love both characters and this is probably the ending I prefer over a rushed make-up. At least we can agree that it was a great show in a lot of aspects : D

Yes, exactly. Reassurances aren’t enough, at least not in Balgeum’s case. There are some things that a person needs to work on for themselves before pursuing a relationship, for their sake and their partner’s. I’m also happy that Inho is understanding of his decision and willing to wait. Let’s manifest season 2 🙏

I think Balgeum is a great person, the issue isn’t that he isn’t but rather that he can’t see himself that way. It would have been nice to hear Inho say that but in reality even if Inho loves him the way he is rn, it’s not enough, Balgeum needs help (I know it isn’t readily available but that’s how a career can benefit him). The reason their date failed wasn’t because of his lack of money but because of his mindset and the way he views himself. Someone who hates themself as much as he does isn’t ready for a relationship as unfortunate as it is. Hating yourself is tantamount to self-sabotage, their relationship is evidence of that, in every aspect of life you can only get so far. I’ve been there, that’s why I relate to his character so much. I personally think they chose a storyline that needed more time to flesh out. I sincerely hope we get a continuation of their story so we can see the resolution to their relationship : )
I enjoyed this series immensely. Good acting/chemistry/direction, and the overall vibe has a funky edge combining…
I’m not sure that “better person,” simply meant financially stable. As you said they could be in a relationship with their current financial statuses especially because Balgeum is a hard worker. However I think it’s more than that. I don’t think the issue is solely money while it is certainly a big factor in his insecurity. He seems emotionally and mentally incapable of a relationship at the moment. I think his family situation which lead to his current situation and then his feelings of shame that arose around the person he loved left him with an inferiority complex and it seems also possibly depression/anxiety. Working towards a career doesn’t fix everything but I definitely think it’s a step in the right direction for this character. Hopefully over time he can change his mindset, which seems to be the biggest overall issue. Idk if I’m right but as I’m writing this I sincerely hope for a continuation of their story >_<
Series is kinda cute, but the lip color shades that are on display here for two of the characters is so distracting,…
I haven’t watched this yet but I’m starting college at 23 (24 if I don’t manage to apply for fafsa before the deadline), I’m pretty sure there’s no age limit on these things, no? People twice my age are starting college…
10/10 I loved everything about this show. I loved both Jinwoo and Giseop coming to a resolution with their families and finally finding that catharsis and moving on. The museum date and Jinwoo’s confession were beautiful and they just had to bring out the extensions one more time to piss all of y’all off 😂 I wish we could have wrapped up the second couple’s story but then the main couple’s wouldn’t have been as fulfilling considering the run time. I kind of prefer it this way though, instead of giving them a rushed ending they left it open so they could potentially do it properly in the future. We need a season 2 for the second cp 🙏 overall one of the best KBL’s, it’s been added to my list, probably somewhere in the top 5 when I get to arranging it lol. Gonna miss this story and characters but it was a really fun watch, gonna miss this comment section too low key (despite some of yall’s craziness lol).
The information available in eps 1-4 never pointed to "only gay for you" trope. You would have to make a lot of…
I personally don’t want an explicit declaration of any of their sexualities lol. Like what would be the point in one of them just randomly saying, “hey, I’m bisexual,” or “I’m gay,” when literally everything in the story points to that. It’s called showing instead of telling. Literally every character that we’ve seen is queer. Jinwoo, Ki Seob, Balgeum, Inho and Hyejin. We know this because of their backstories and who they’ve said they like. Would it really be necessary for each one of them to state what they are? That would feel very forced and off to me low key. Seems like what you want is lazy writing being spoon fed to you.
Haven't finished the episode yet but the 2nd couple's situation is weird. So like I get the financial burden but…
We still have two episodes left. Clearly this is an issue that runs very deep for Balgeum and after his confession that he hates himself and even more so around Inho, I personally think the best decision was to give him space. The day was clearly very taxing for him. I trust that they will resolve their issues, especially considering that Inho never expected anything extravagant from Balgeum in the first place and just wanted to spend time with him. Only time will tell I guess : )
We can see that when Inho made the plans he chose to simply come over to Balgeum’s place and do nothing. But…
Same, I was a bit indifferent about their story, but just within this last ep their character building and acting was so good. I’m really looking forward to seeing more of them now, just a shame that it’s about to end 😭
broke my heart for real! I was crying with him and In Ho in the last two scenes. Poor Inho didn't even know why…
Yes, Inho begging Balgeum to finally be honest with him instead of running away again hurt so much. It never occurred to him just how deeply Balgeum hated himself and his situation. They’re both so precious 🥹
I don't think that is the reason majority of the people are upset. They are upset at the inaccurate representation…
I’m a bit confused about the “mostly straight,” or “only gay for you,” trope being in this drama. Did I miss something?? Where does Jinwoo ever say that he’s not gay and only likes girls? Because his criteria is centered around a girl? If he’s bisexual then I’m confused as to how that’s an issue. He never once says he’s straight, he’s actually very honest and self-aware of the fact that he likes a boy but in denial not because it’s a guy but because it’s Ki Seob. Idk seeing these comments I have to wonder if we all watched the same drama. I actually thought their lack of labels and how they showed three different characters who liked both genders refreshing and progressive.
My heart completely broke when after all his budgeting and planning and worrying over some movie tickets, popcorn/drinks and dinner, the way his face completely fell when the present Inho gave him costed more than their entire date. I understand his feelings of embarrassment even when the other person is so understanding and its especially heartbreaking knowing that none of it is his fault. Balgeum’s character is so well written and relatable, I want his happy ending so bad.
It physically PAINS me to watch the date scene for the second couple. Like, it is SOOOO real that that broke dude…
We can see that when Inho made the plans he chose to simply come over to Balgeum’s place and do nothing. But when Balgeum made the plans he chose everything that costs money. In this way we can see how they both view money, Inho has enough of it to not worry about going out or doing anything impressive. Whereas Balgeum because of his lack of money feels like he needs to compensate and provide even more for the one he loves. I love that they added that detail. The one with money chose a cheap date and the one without budgeted to try to impress the other. It makes a lot of sense in a way.
After watching these past few episodes I see the main couple in a slightly different light. Yes they’re goofy, chaotic and funny and that’s what I love about them but they’re also both deeply flawed and scarred individuals. It seems that they both craved validation from the ones they loved but in completely different ways. The way they both went about seeking that validation followed them into adulthood, leaving Jinwoo lonely because of his impossibility high standards and leading to Ki Seob constantly hurting those around him because of his lack of honesty. Thankfully what one of them lacks the other makes up for and that’s why their chemistry is amazing to me. Also the second cp was like a bonus to me, I didn’t care too much for their story but i didn’t dislike it either, but after this last episode and Balgeum’s teary eyed confession that he loves Inho but hates himself, I am now very intrigued and am anticipating these two reconciling in the last two eps. I feel for Balgeum and his struggle deeply and I love that Inho is so caring, understanding and patient. I’ve loved every minute of this drama, I almost don’t want it to end >_<
The main couple is so fresh! They're ridiculously funny and LOOK AT THEIR CHEMISTRY. It's amazing. I'm hooked…
I love the main couple, idk why people don’t. The second couple is great but definitely feels like a storyline that’s been done many times before. Our main cp is so chaotic, funny and have great chemistry : D

That’s not how this works. An actor is playing a part, a fictional character. The fans and everyone else is aware that it’s not real. Those who choice to be delusional and push a fake relationship onto someone can’t be considered fans. You don’t get to try to dictate someone’s life and then play victim when they call you out on your gross behavior. Get a life please and then you’ll hopefully stop caring about his.
