Sankaew is so happy when he is with Sasin.. my baby been through so much abuse
I was watching the dad’s face while the grandmother shared with him how happy and lively SaenKaew has been since meeting Sasin. you’d think the dad would feel a little sympathy towards his son. Nope, he just doubled down and became even more cruel towards him.
like, imagine hearing that your child is happier now and your immediate response is to harass & assault him. sheesh!
OMFG BRO THIS GRANDMA IS SO FUCKING USELESS. She is powerless, fragile and is only alive for now to be a emotional…
I literally gasped and paused the show when she outright fainted (while sitting in a plush chair) from that toddler scuffle between her and Pin’s stepmother.
the writers/ directors must not know any old people at all. you’d think they wrote this character for a 90yr old!
What if Khamsu is secretly In love with Prince Kamfa, but never really crossed the line because of his position. Or better yet, what if they both had a mutual attraction for one another when they were younger, but never dared to act on those feelings due to the disparity in their social classes and societal prejudices against homosexuality.
Honestly, it’s easier to believe that Prince Kamfa is just another cruel and corrupt POS, wielding his ill-gotten wealth and influence to dominate everything in his life. But that’s too obvious.
it just dawned on me that Pin doesn’t have anyone that she loves or trust more than Sasin and SaenKaew. they both show her true love and affection without wanting anything in return. I see why she is so worried when they argue, because they symbolize her “safe space” and she feels even more vulnerable when they fight. if i had a verbally/emotionally abusive snob of a stepmom and a dishonest and manipulative father like her I would probably be the same way. I’m not for that whole “forcing someone to love you” BS, but I lowkey understand where she is coming from in her actions
I’m usually here for the unhinged characters, but this is too much for me. you can’t really trust anyone! maybe this is why I don’t watch many Lakorns.
I will do my best to accept that it’s just baked into the show and adjust my expectations moving forward 😮💨
lol, just once, I would like to experience a sweet moment between Sasin and Saenkaew without it being interrupted by someone spying from 3 miles away or some random barging in every 3 seconds … 😮💨
When does it get interesting? Because I just finished episode 3 and I'm really contemplating on dropping it. For…
but “interesting” to us might not be interesting to you…if we say it’s a phenomenal series, will you continue watching it? you mentioned that it was already boring & not your taste. maybe you should drop it.
a lot of people LOVE it and a lot of people found it difficult to follow.
IMO, There aren’t many BL’s (if any) that have come close to the production value, creativity, acting ability and professionalism captured in this series.
I have many critiques about “Shine”, but would never say it was boring! but those are just my thoughts 💭
As a middle aged librarian I am offended by this comment! Lol There are a lot of stereotypes about librarians…
I don’t mean to offend, 😉! for every generalization there are always exceptions — my aunt is a librarian that shares your same eclectic & unique sense of fashion. unfortunately, she’s surrounded by all the other frumpy dressers, lol
The way some of you refer to Tojo (including Tojo himself) you would think he was a grandpa on the brink of collecting social security. I understand that other cultures view age differently, but for most international fans, this is hilarious. Some of us are just getting adjusted in our careers around our mid 30’s! Especially those who are pursuing a profession in the medical field; your 20’s/30’s are spent primarily in a classroom/ campus/ clinicals. I have never been 38/39, but I would like to think that my life wouldn’t be over by then.
Tojo has someone who’s interested in him for HIM, so he’s clearly still attractive and youthful-ish. He just dresses like a middle aged librarian who has no sense of fashion.
The world has been such a depressing crap basket with all of its evil political tapestry unveiling itself in the most cruelest of ways.
unfortunately, these past episodes of “Shine” have left me feeling like there is absolutely no hope for anyone or anything “good” in the world. a bit dramatic, I know! but the timing of these past episodes juxtaposed to all the current events are just...😮💨
I mentioned this before, but I’m genuinely concerned and need answers.
what is the actual deal with Lee’s team/ Manager(s) inability to raise the bar/ standard for the types of roles that he signs off on. I totally understand that being booked is better than being broke, but how is someone this stunning and talented constantly being thrown into productions like THIS!
I consider Long to be one of THE most striking Thai actors I've ever seen (no lie). The “face card” alone could get him booked for ANY role he demanded. This man deserves to find an agency that will do right by him. I suggest he gets picked up by BOC (Be on Cloud) …honestly, anywhere else than where he is now.
maybe I’ll never know the truth, but what I do know is that all the “fans” who blindly rate shows 10/10 just because they want to support their fav actor (even though the entire series is trash) will undoubtedly stunt the growth of all the actors in the end . It robs us (true fans) of ever getting more thoughtfully produced shows…allowing for your “Fav” actors to land roles that challenge and respect them and the craft.
Unfortunately, directors will just keep pushing out poorly scripted, shallow fluff if nothing ever changes.
I wish Lee Long would finally get cast in a week written, will produced show that he can shine in.
I say this every year and yet, every year his PR/ managers fumble the ball… EVERY TIME! like how can someone with a face card like this get such horrendous projects. Does he not recognize his own abilities?
I can’t be the only one who low-key teared up watching this! Maybe it was the nastagia of seeing all the familiar faces (Neo, etc) or maybe it was the editing. Either way it looks spectacular!
AND… fact that everyone looks like themselves (no bad haircuts, no overdone makeup, the styling makes sense, the location looks great and the artistic visuals look promising) 😉
Victor might be young and inexperienced, but let’s face it—he's a solid 10 out of 10!
He’s tall, incredibly handsome, beautiful eyes, full lips and a smile to die for. Aside from his physical beauty…he’s smart, a natural leader, has street savvy, good with his hands, strong moral beliefs, hard working, AND THE MAN CAN COOK!
The only drawback for him right now is his age and social status…he doesn’t come from a wealthy/ well respected family. Which is BS!
With that being said…If victor isn’t mature enough for Trin then Tanwa should also be held to that same degree (he exudes just as much immaturity as victor, just a different font) older age doesn’t always equate maturity. But I’m still rooting for TanwaTrin 😉
Which leads me to my next point; in today’s society, guys like Victor and Veera would be labeled as the good guy, boring, or too nice. If being with someone that adores you, is considerate of your needs and respects your boundaries and soothes your nervous system is unpopular (boring) then sign me up for that! I have no interest questioning my relationship status every other week.
Tanwa would probably be a great partner (if he got therapy) but as of now…a situationship would be the most suitable outcome for him and Trin.
Remember guys… this is just a character analysis. Has nothing to do with the actors, personally. The fact that we’re all having such weighty discussions about things proves that everyone is executing their roles flawlessly.
In conclusion, I will always support MileApo as a unit. Mainly because they are rare in this industry; they’re mature actors that take their craft seriously. Son and Euro are undoubtedly my new favorite actors.
listen, I don’t think I’ve never been this emotionally invested in an entire cast before.
However, I don’t know if I can make it to the end of this show if something tragic happens to either of the couples. Especially Krailert or Naran! Hell, at this point I’m even invested in victor’s little entourage of friends.
Unfortunately, the foreshadowing is just too loud… case and point, *Trin lost his French GF during a violent protest; no final words/ last goodbyes (no closure) *Krailert lost his first lover in such a cruel and un-just way; stripped of his ability to properly grieve (no closure) *Tanwa, tragically lost his mother (no closure) *Victor’s Dad …. who is essentially a refugee who can never truly be fully free. (limited rights/ freedom) etc,
I don’t need a happily ever after… but a sad/tragic ending will just leave me completely gutted, sitting it a pool of tears and grieving for weeks.
But like the words in the final song of ep 5 ... "I've already fallen too deep to back out"
"Verse" representation in a BL should not be this groundbreaking..and yet, it is! Especially when it’s the closest thing to reality for a lot of (gay, queer, bi) guys.
Cheers to shattering those 'heteronormative tropes' one piano key at a time.

the dad used it to forge her & krailerts marriage and then she used it to “seal the deal” (trap him forever)
😪

anywho, I’ll be back next week for the FINALE!
