Well said. A single-minded focus on skinship will be the death of the industry as a creative force. C-ent's creative minds need to be given room to explore new concepts and ideas without feeling pressured to force intimacy into every story. Fans need to adjust their expectations to the reality of the vision the creative team is trying to achieve, and stop projecting disappointment at things they were never promised. If romance is the central theme of a story, then by all means express your dissatisfaction if a drama doesn't deliver. However, if romance is merely a lesser component of the drama, don't get upset when you can't find the skinship you crave, when you came looking for it in the wrong place. You fooled yourself.
Like you said, you don't need kissing to have phenomenal chemistry on-screen. Excessive skinship is often a cheat and an over-sell. Talent on both the creative and performing side can produce this atmosphere without resorting to it.

I feel so gluttonous after watching episode 20 😂. It had absolutely everything. More ups and downs than some dramas have in 40. Love that transition from fireworks when NXG looked at LYS, to really awkward when she glanced at ZX. From the early sugar-sweet euphoria to the crash landing at the end.
Argh! 20 even had me briefly hoping for an improbable bromance 😔.
