Enjoying it so far! Not sure how the heck she thought he was a woman but then again she’s passing as a man. Otherwise, FL is smart and resourceful. ML is a little stoic at first but very attractive. 2ml has annoying tantrums and keeps trying to manhandle FL. decent story.
I didn’t find the ending ambiguous at all. Firstly, she knew the mask was not hers. Secondly, she wants to compete with him, as she did in the past. That said, I enjoyed this. ML & FL have good chemistry and the story is decent. The doctor, 2ML, has dual role of handy healer and also gatherer of information. I guess that keeps the cast smaller.
I enjoyed this show very much. Aside from the unflattering mask at the beginning, ML is tall and handsome. FL is like sunshine. It’s refreshing that although FL was pretending to be her friend Yu and also suffered from amnesia, the couple were honest with each other. Misunderstandings were limited and FL initiated intimacy. The secondary couple started out very contentious, went to a brief shy period, then became a couple fairly quickly. The costumes are quite nice, especially the fish demon’s.
I saw it while rewatching the scene. Right before he grabs her there is blood between her lips. I didnt catch it the first time. I would have to screen shot somehow.
I feel the same, really! It's as if none of the other male leads have flaws... especially XL, whom they've put…
I personally have not seen any Jing shipper bashing any character. But there are many comments about only watching for XL, that otherwise they wouldn’t watch the show. To each their own, but I came to talk about a show that I really love.
I dread coming here to see all the Jing bashing. And I have even been blocked by an XL fan when I don’t say anything bad about XL. I love both characters and what they did for XY.
I’m on ep 10 and I have to say, I find General Lu a bit more annoying than Miss Pei. yes, in the first 3 eps or so she throws tantrums and wants to marry a dead General. After that, she actually has a pretty good head on her shoulders. Our young ML tho has a stubborn chip on his shoulder and seems like a big hot head than a savy general of the palace guards. I do enjoy the relationship emerging with Commander Su.
This must be the studio of Joy of Life. Guest appearance by Zhang Rou Yun in the first episode. After that it’s hilarious that Fan Xian’s brother and sister are the main couple. I might not be able to get past that.
I really loved this story. It was an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. So many fantastic, flawed characters and growth through the 2 seasons.
I was deeply moved by XL's entire arc and even his death. He said goodbye to XY (even though she did not know it) by killing the poisonous bugs and remembering their shared experiences. I feel like his commitment to the rebels was so much like CX's ambition, except his was futile. As a military advisor and feared demon he went out in a blaze of 8 headed glory. The respect he was given by Su Rou and other leaders was fitting.
At first I hated the "dream" confrontation of XY and CX but the way he finally confessed, in contrast, without desperation and anger was very special. I am glad he was able to realize he would have to let go of his obsession and let her go.
That "dream" also revealed how XY saw YS/TSJ as her light. And we found out just how much TSJ had done for XY & CX behind the scenes.
AN went from being the most spoiled brat princess to a very rational woman. I would have liked her to find requited love, instead of being one of the harem, but she was content with her choice.
Even cray cray Queen resolved to be a better person after her brother's death.
Grandpa was really awesome and King of Haoling too.
Despite the ups and downs and bumps in the road, I think they pulled it all together in the end and this version…
I agree with you totally. I feel like the characters got their send off in beautiful ways. XL was respected and honored despite being the enemy. CX confessed and realized that he chose the kingdom over her and still would do the same if he had to do it again. I will miss this wonderful and tragic story.
