One of the Best Adaptations in 2024!
It’s easy to get lost in our own lives—to become so consumed by what’s happening to us that we feel like we’re drowning. And the people beyond the waves? They become distant, even frightening, especially when one of them shines like a beacon of light, someone we’re afraid to approach for fear of extinguishing their brilliance. This feeling of being lost, afraid, and yet yearning for something outside our own experience is precisely what the Japanese BL Our Youth captures so powerfully.
Adapted from the webtoon by Hi Nun, Our Youth follows model student Minase Jin (Motojima Junsei) and delinquent Hirukawa Haruki (Kamimura Kenshin) as they navigate a turbulent youth defined by violence and loneliness. Their lives are like a choppy sea where no one expects them to cross paths—let alone to become each other’s anchor in the storm.

Reincarnation Saga at its Best!!
Adapted from the novel “Katsathitthan” (กัษธิษฐาน) by Ace, “I’m Your Moon” is a reincarnation saga steeped in societal redressal and traditional bondage. The intricately woven storyline addresses the long lost love between two princesses born in the Buddhist year 2456 (1913). While being homosexual itself was a crime then, their regal status doesn’t allow their blossoming love to flourish. With same-sex marriage laws becoming a reality in Thailand, the show highlights the differences in the ancient and modern societal mindset. Starring Sprite Itaree & Piano Pronyanee in lead roles, the show encompasses two different timelines where their characters fall in love and face variant challenges!Read the complete article here-

"So, my answer to your question is…I have fallen in love with you after all this time. It has been a long-lasting love. I cannot live a long life without you by my side.”
The premise for this show might seem simple but it isn’t. Adapted from the novel “Reverse with me: Across Millions of Orbits” (Reverse With Me ล้านวงโคจร) by Zezeho, “Reverse with Me” is the follow up or sequel to “Reverse 4 You”. If you have watched the prequel, you would know about the magical powers that the main lead Jattawa & her sister Vivi possess. Born into a family where the descendants have magical powers, Jattawa can manipulate time and Vivi can glimpse at the future through her visions. “Reverse with Me” focuses on Karan, Jattawa’s daughter. Ironically, she can not only manipulate time like her mother but also has the power of visions. All her life, she has been dreaming about a girl who aspires to become a doctor. In order to meet the girl of her dreams, Karan becomes a doctor herself. But as fate may have it, their first meeting is apocalyptic with Karan meeting her love interest, Kliaokhluen as she is on the brink of death. What follows is a disjointed tale of longing so deep, it will leave you heartbroken!

The Most Scintillating Remake in Recent Times!
When you sacrifice your ambitions and goals to pin your hopes on the love of your life! When I sat down to write this review, words failed me. I couldn’t comprehend how I should describe this life changing experience; because IT IS!!
There have been clandestine remakes and adaptations in the recent times; some praiseworthy, others not so much. Because crafting a remake of something that is remarkably well-made and popular isn’t easy. That’s where creativity comes into existence and “Top Form The Series” is a fine example of one such carefully constructed masterpiece. The allure that binds to the Japanese anime adaptation is unexplainable; to remake something that is comparable to its beauty is commendable. But what truly sets this remake apart is the casting. Adapted from the Japanese manga “Dakaichi: I’m Being Harassed by the Sexiest Man of the Year” by Hashigo Sakurabi, “Top Form The Series” is a low-key, high profile adaptation of the most popular manga work in existence. When the adaptation was announced, I was skeptical. GMMTV has been purchasing Japanese originals and remaking them with a consistency that borders on mediocrity. I was afraid “Top Form The Series” would meet the same end. Fortunately, teamed with an ensemble casting that deliver and a director who knows what he is doing with the main couple, we ended with topnotch storytelling and exemplary performances that are unparalleled.

A Masterpiece that Needs to be Savored Slowly!
Why did you bring me here to watch the sunrise? Because beautiful things are worth sharing.” – Quote from Secrets Happen On The Litchi IslandMagnum Opus. Masterpiece. 伟大的工作. This is a prodigious and matchless piece of artistry and cinematic enchantment as well as a screenplay paragon. Honestly, I am not sure there are adequate words to describe this series or its brilliance, nor its impact that it has on the viewer. It is that cogent. Even more astonishingly, this is not one of those long belaboring BL series. It is only 7 episodes, almost 13 to 22 minutes in length, easily viewed in one setting. You will be transformed and transfixed and may never be able to see BLs in the same light again as this is how they should be done. This is art but its aim is heuristic. It is sublimity. Honestly, I had to watch it twice because I was so tantalized by its message that I wanted to be sure that what I was watching was genuine, and I was not merely swept up by its spellbinding and intoxicating sentiments. Indeed, it is like watching a cinematic treasure.

Toxic Love at its Best or Worst!!!
“Toxic love is an addiction that lures you in with glimpses of happiness, only to trap you in a cycle of pain”- Isabella GarciaThese words would definitely resonate with Jung Da-On’s (Kim Jun-Seo) soul, because the very definition of relationships seems to spell disaster for him. Despite the fact that there are three different men vying for his attention & affections, only one actually cared about his mental wellbeing. This says a lot about their inadequacies, obsessive behaviors and narcissistic attitude. The storyline dwells a lot into their deliberate attempts to wreak havoc in Da-On’s life, so they could exercise control, not one of them being bothered about the viscous cycle of pain he has endured over years. He was constantly played, dictated and his boundaries were pushed; simply because they couldn’t stand seeing with someone else. This mentality is a caricature of most toxic relationships where the victim is physically & emotionally abused. While the story does gleam over these gory details, it also showcases innocent love at its best. As against Shin Jae Min (Kim Ho-Young) & Kim Su Hyeon (Cha Jung-Woo) who force their will on Da-On; Ju Seong Hyeon (Cha Sun-Hyung) wants to stay beside him, cherish him and love him unconditionally, the kind of love that sets you free.

Disappointing Watch Indeed!
Wasted potential. That is what this BL was, which is such a shame as the premise was initially entertaining. Then it slipped into banality and triteness. It is a story of two neighborhood boys who grow up together. Their tale on how they become connected, to say the least, is a real tearjerker. Ai (Ryu Ingkarat) is the younger of the two. He is in college now but is still rather immature and at times an emotionally fragile individual. Meanwhile, his very best friend, who is slightly older, and an established photographer, is Yu (Putter Phubase). While they advanced together as next door neighbors, their relationship seems more like a blended family, remaining exceptionally close. Yu, an astonishingly handsome young man, is deeply reflective, always eager to help and please, but has a somewhat impassive personality. His affect, however, seems a bit laid-back. Throughout their friendship, he has always been unmerciful in teasing/torturing/pranking Ai. Ai, now that he has gotten older and is beginning to flex his wings, forthrightly expressed his dislike and displeasure for this constant humiliation. From that point, the foundation for a more serious relationship is established. A bit at least.

A Good Attempt at Recreating a Timeless Classic
Hello everyone! I am thrilled to share my impression of the newest Thai BL adaptation of the well-known Chinese BL drama “Addicted Heroine”. As a huge fan of the original series, my expectations for this version were sky-high, especially in terms of casting the leads, Bai Luo Yin and Gu Hai, now re-imagined as Hero and Poppy. Let me walk you through my thoughts on this exciting new series. The Storyline:
The emotional journey of Hero, the high-ranking general’s son, who flees his family after learning that his father is about to get remarried, lies at the core of “Addicted Heroine”. Poppy, his stepson, is accompanied by his father’s new spouse. Hero poses as poor in order to gain Poppy’s attention. This leads to a dramatic and emotional connection between the two, who will eventually become stepbrothers. Their romantic tale is rife with complexities, ranging from social divide to familial rivalry, which causes both characters to experience severe emotional distress.

An Apt Remake and Epic Romance Recalled!
For those who are looking for a vivid comparison between the Thai & Japanese version, fret not. We are at your service! After a bevy of Thai remakes of Japanese adaptations (Cherry Magic & My Love Mix-Up!), now it’s time to watch the Japanese remake of popular Thai adaptation “Love in the Air”. If you have watched the original show, you might be reminded of the fact that it turned rookie actors Boss Chaikamon, Noeul Nuttarat Tangwai, Fort Thitipong & Peat Wasuthorn into fan favorites. Each of these pairings have a cult following and their popularity could be attributed to the NC scenes that are a part and parcel of most universe’s created by author MAME. When I first heard about the Japanese remake, I had my own doubts. Japanese BL actors can be categorized into two varieties- firstly the ones who are dedicated and go all the way in, which means they are extremely comfortable with their co-star and their NC scenes are phenomenal. Secondly, the ones who are in for fame and find it uncomfortable to even kiss their co-star. I kept wondering if the Japanese actors Nagumo Shoma, Hamaya Takuto, Suzuki Asahi & Nagatsuma Reo would be honest to the original interpretation? Would they be comfortable stepping into the shoes of the Thai actors who left a deep impression in the minds of avid fans?

An Impossible Romance Between A Robot & A Historian
“Anti Reset” is the story of Chu Yi Ping (Wu Ping Chen), is an aloof and unsociable history professor who gets into an accident at his college and injures his arm. To take care of him, his uncle, the head of a scientific company which is secretly experimenting with artificially intelligent human-like robots, sends him their latest model, Ever 9 (Huang Li Feng). The two spend time together as Ever 9 helps nurse Yi Ping back to health, and feelings develop.Despite the scientific premise, if you go into “Anti Reset” expecting it to answer deep philosophical questions about the power dynamics of a romance between a human and an artificially intelligent robot who is designed to serve him, whether artificial intelligence can truly gain the sentience to become fully human, what being ‘human’ even means, you might be disappointed. The show brushes off the scientific explanations as being top secret, and presents Ever 9 as already close to completely sentient. He feels both positive and negative emotions, including jealousy of a robot vacuum and fear of being replaced by another model. At this point, the show would have been virtually the same had Yi Ping’s uncle sent him a human caretaker instead of an AI.

An Entertaining Watch Indeed!
“Perfect 10 Liners”, like “We Are Series”, is a fun buddy romedy comedy series, which centers around a group of friends, who grow together and find love. Despite not having much substance, it is a feel-good romcom that is meant to be a comfort watch, with little to no tension. “Perfect 10 Liners” is your quintessential BL, you know what you’re getting and you’re happy with it, and it doesn’t pretend to be anything more than it is. The problem with this, however, is that it can be boring and seem overdone, but at the same time, it is a show that wouldn’t disappoint you with its formulaic storytelling. This is for the slice of life lovers, who just want to watch a good romance and see friends goof around while falling in love with no stakes.Read the complete article here-

JossGawin's Magic is Addictive!!!
Imagine being a small-town guy with a rare blood condition, finally stepping into the big city for a new life—only to realize that your blood is basically the vampire equivalent of caviar. That’s Tong’s life in My Golden Blood, and let’s just say, things escalated quickly.Tong, a sheltered orphan suffering from hemophilia, has spent his entire life wrapped in bubble wrap (figuratively… mostly). Raised in a remote village, he and his best friend Tonkla finally break free and head to Bangkok for higher studies. But city life isn’t just about noodles at 2 AM and bad WiFi—especially when you accidentally land yourself in a den of vampires.
Our rebellious protagonist, feeling self-conscious about his condition, decides to switch things up—by sneaking out, dressing as his best friend, and getting a part-time job. Smart? Questionable. Entertaining? Absolutely. Unfortunately, this genius plan leads him straight into the fangs of the very creatures he was supposed to be protected from. Turns out, his golden blood isn’t just a poetic metaphor—it’s a priceless, mythical substance, and if the wrong people get a taste, we’re looking at a full-blown supernatural war.

Not That Good, Neither That Bad
Live in Love” follows the story of Kla (Hearth Chindanai Dechewajeekul) and Cake (Junior Chokkorn Deotrakul), two occasional streamers, who meet online by chance, and Kla falls in love at first sight with Cake, who also begins to develop feelings for him. The show is set during a pandemic, which might be to justify the online nature of the relationship (and title), however, all the pandemic related precautions are quickly disregarded. The setting of the show is quite confusing, and the online relationship could have been justified in much simpler ways, that did not need to drag in the over-played pandemic tropes that people would much rather move past. The show has a lot of redeeming qualities and started out simple and grounded, however, by episode 3, it seems to want to be more than it’s supposed to be, which is a fluffy comfort BL.Read the complete article here-
