The only change which i didn't like was grandpa being equally harsh towards children like other adults, unlike the manhwa where he kinda loves his grand kids. Other than that Everything is much needed for a realistic story telling like in manhwa it is shown that he as a child was already trading in billions that's never going to happen in real like where a parents lets a teen who is not even in college manage so much money without any supervision.

Yes more often than not you need to let the story build towards what it is trying to show. I usually give 4 episodes to judge a series whether to watch it or not. Judging based on 1st episode is like eating a raw cake, let it bake then eat it people.

It's a happy Ending except If you have seen ep 11(Someone Dies). Don't expect some fairy tale ending but it is a good ending as per the circumstances Both male lead have a happy ending so does the 1st FL & 2nd FL (Except something is shown which will happen to 2nd FL).
I was sure the ML would survive the thing that bothered me was FL walking at least they should have show us that she was healing with Physio Therapy. The death of SK i will say is poetic in a way that it was justice served by the mountain but someone can say that why didn't the mountain do that earlier.

I agree with you that she had her son and list so that she could easily control him and his actions which could easily harm her career. She is also not a righteous person because she has helped her son by covering up many of his past scandals as evident by his own lawyer and his conversation. What she wants is not only power but money too, I think you are forgetting what they did to the main leads family and female leads family she is ruthless enough that if anyone comes between her girls she is not afraid to kill. Har military demeanor might be someone who wants to bring about change but what matters is the way you accomplish that. At the end what matters to her is which person she can control so that is why she was angry with Doberman because he was helping her son.

No drugs or mafia so far. But there is corruption and main story line concerns revenge by leads. But there are also elements of Rich using power to escape punishment. Either way give it a try first few episodes will be more than enough to gauge your interest.
