Omgeee can't wait for tomorrow for this!!! Watching Destined now and waiting for Kunning Palace w/ Bai lu! I don't know why I love all these period/costume dramas. Argh. It's going to be a busy month.
What the heck was this! Okay so I been watching all of Zi Huan's dramas. And I was about to not watching because…
I agree with that last part so much about doing things for the 2ML. But beyond that, I guess it's just her acting overall. It seemed unnatural. I find that great actors embody the personality and the expressions of the characters they play, that you'd think it's actually them. With feifei, it seemed forced. She should have more projects to practice more of her acting. Practice makes one better.

I think it's her acting. The Feifei character is normal for a drama. It's just that her acting for me seemed forced and unnatural that it comes off fake on-screen. Great actors act naturally . Like they embody their characters so well you would think it's them. For her, its different.
My perceived ending based on what is implied in the finale is down below as a spoiler. Ok. This is gonna be long…
Given the finale, my alternative ending is that they would still breakup in the future. Qin Shi didn't change. Her fear of marriage is still there when they got back after divorce and 7month separation. Despite being given opportunities to grow, the character still didn't. Quite opposite with yang hua, whose love for her was enough to change him to a better man. So given that, it's bound to end in tragedy. And the most important point- they wouldn't get married at all. FL's marriage trauma stems from people around her and as long as she keeps seeing failed marriages in her lifetime, she just can't bring herself to be in one even if she loves the person. That's why it was Yang Hua who compromised. It wouldn't even last that long w/o his compromises. It's him who sacrificed a lot to bring that relationship to that point. The moment he 100% gives up, also ends it, and it's possible given the FL's character.
My perceived ending based on what is implied in the finale is down below as a spoiler. Ok. This is gonna be long and you 100% won't agree w/me on this but if you break up and see it in parts, you will see the beauty of this drama. I give Xu Kai ❤️and the script a 10. The dialogues are well-written (though repetitive) and has plenty of quotable quotes that you can save for a lifetime. For the plot, it's a 6. This is a 40episode CDRAMA, so expect the pace to be reallyy slow (like god of wealth😆), and each scene to be very lengthy since a lot of the lines are repeated all too many times in different situations. Well, it's actually very repetitive. It can easily be reduced if we remove those repetitions. The story is a 10. The premise is good and interesting but it won't live up to your expectation. Cdramas aren't for binge watching, so don't even try or you'll die early. Remember, this is a DRAMA and a work of fiction, expect it to be as unrealistic as your mundane life. 😆
Finally!!! I've just finished it a few minutes ago! My goodness. It was really a feat watching this drama. Watching 55 episodes, that could have been shortened easily by editing correctly, isn't easy. I wonder who wrote the tv adaptation from the novel because it felt amateur. 😆. I'm sorry that's just my opinion. The novel might be good but on tv it doesn't reflect whatever was the vision in the novel. I really think it's beautiful because it gave me some moments of Love Between Fairy and Devil vibe, including plots. But the pace and the transitions are weird. But anyway, I have to check a fan made edited version in the discussions box. 👆👆👆
Some characters were build to be annoying on purpose. For the sake of the plot to move and for the character development.…
I agree! And it always helps our sànity if wé watch these dramas for its artistic merits and enjoy the creative license given to creators for its intended audience. It's nice to sometimes immerse ourselves in the character's pov but sometimes too, viewers are just going bonkers blurring the lines bet. Reel and Real...it's too much really.
I'm on the 6th and I can't imagine how they'll wrap this all up in 4 more eps. There's definitely a S2 if finale is a cliffhanger. I'm also wondering why Korea's ministry of tourism etc. Is supporting this drama. Bullying theme w/ the FL not cowering in fear but fighting back, is maybe what Korea needs now??🧐 Is this The Glory effect?? 🤔
But will this make me cry like a child?? That's my main priority lol
For me, I didn't bawled my eyes out, more like shed a year moments. I had more fun watching this though because the humor used in this drama appealed to me the most. You might cry if you can resonate w/ some of the character's situations. 😄 Happy watching!
If you want to see more of Bailu's acting would suggest One and Only and Till The End of The Moon - the latter…
I love Bai lu! It's in this drama I find her truly amàzing às an actress, though I still have to watch her other works before I can say that. But yes, she's great and amazing, and gorgeous. I'll actually havé Bai lu for my July fest. Hàha.
It is, just so dumb! He has so much potential. He can have dual personality too. But he stays the same. 🙄
Hmm. Maybe it was his personal interpretation. It looks like it. He could have done it differently but maybe that's the point of his character. To be dumb and immature surrounded by a group of people that's exactly the opposite of him.
The dramas I choose to watch aren't based on what I see in reviews and ratings. I'm watching this solely because of xu kai. 🤣. And because the Korean version of this - jewel in the palace, is also beautiful. hoping to see better production in this Chinese version. And yeah, no amount of low rating can hinder me from watching xu kai in this. For the love of kai soso!!! Go! 🤣
Reading the summary of this drama made me very excited to watch this. I've just finished Arsenal military academy and I realized that Chinese period dramas just hit differently. It's like being sucked right into a time period right with the characters and it gives me a feeling of being there as well. Yeah, that's how it is for me while watching cdramas. Lol.
