Further down, I believe I saw some comments arguing that the female lead (FL) technically does have her five senses,…
i think it was the feeling associated with the sense that she doesn't have. however, i was surprised on ep13 when it thundered. she doesnt have the hearing sense yet right, but when it sounded, she jumped from surprise. so i think it was a plot hole. a minor one but quite obvious. hehehe
i now know who's the perfect Jinshi if Apothecary Diaries is adapted. It's you!!! no one else! and there's no other Maomao but Zhou Ye... I can't imagine the two of you not being together in that project!!! i have to manifest it as early as now. hahahaha
this is soooo good already. pls dont be like the last drama i finished. pls give us a good straight run till the last episode. may this not just be good in the first half. let this be real good for its entire run.
this gives me fangs of fortune vibes. and i was right when i checked the screenwriter and director after watching the first ep. lol. ok, im a sucker for wuxia. just give me mesmerizing fight scenes and im seated. even the cgi doesnt look cringe. the cast is like a semi-reunion of FOF. this is amazing.
beyond the incredible shots and bgm, i love this drama for the sheer subtlety of making the viewer reflect on foundational beliefs of faith and morality on a personal level. if one isn't grounded in any faith, one may agree at some point to the moral turpitude that the guest characters are trying to present our leads in each of their missions.
however, i also love that the goddess stood firmly with her own beliefs in each situation, though it's also just a question of time-- until when is she gonna hold out til she'll finally empathize w/ the "demons" despite the burden she's carrying to uphold what is right, no matter how justified the wrong may be. i don't know how the group will face the demise of Yuan Zhou in the hands of Yi Chen since ive only covered a third of the drama, but i feel that the conflict will ultimately present itself from that standpoint.
so far, despite it being a "slow burn wuxia(lol)" i love the depth and insight of the dialogues esp. when it questions our leads' personal moral compass and them judging things either from that perspective or from the harsh and often justifiable truth in front of them.
that rooftop convo is the most beautiful, mature, adult relationship convo ive ever watched in a cdrama. it felt so natural, it transcends that feeling off-screen. that kind of intimacy in a loving relationship like the one xiaolan has with the ML is worth aiming for. even the relationship between Fen and Tang. all wholesome and loving with lots of respect. ---edit--- i just saw a post of zhou ye wearing a wedding dress!! she was showing the evolution of her clothes in this drama and the last one was a bridal gown! omooo...
i love it every time they show her visual POV. her black and white POV is so sad. i wonder how she'll feel once she gets to see color for the first time in her life. or maybe taste something sweet or feel cold?? hahaha.
This couple is so unhinged in the most fascinating way 😭 like she’s literally obsessed with his skull and…
uhh,.. about the skull, at first i thought, maybe it was a mistranslation. i mean it couldn't be "the skull" right? hahaha. but then, it was repeated a few times ... so i thought, maybe it really is a skull. hahaha.
im with you on this journey of dreaming big xiaolan!! lol. if only all of us can transmigrate, that'd be awesome. for now, the rest of us can only dream big and pray it will happen accdg to the current market economy. hahahaha.
finally!!! after 8 episodes of plateau (at least in my pov) this episode is a breakthrough!!! yesss! but what sui yuanqing did, shocked me to the core.
Love this serie !!! But man they are the masters of the single shed tears ahahahah I can they be tearing up every…
this is the 2nd thing i noticed after finishing 5 episodes. lol. the first thing was how they wanted this to be a slow-burn wuxia right from the start. lol.
Okay, I have a couple of questions about the leaked episode (Just curious)1. Do international views even count…
wait what do you mean leaks!??! i use netflix. u mean full episodes are released ahead that're not from the official platforms ??!!?! like how many episodes??
