LYX, after Tantai Jin, really had potential to play as a vampire lead. Really need more Anti heroes and dark fantasy romance.

I just remembered something so disturbing in the original script of the novel before it was rewritten. After Bingchang snake torture, Tantai Jin wanted to eat XiWu corpse before her brother stopped him.

They are obviously not used to dark mature redemption romance genres in the Xinxia theme. For me, it was a pleasure to see this kind of romance in a Chinese fantasy drama since I am a huge reader of paranormal books. Even though I hope they would have a HE like the OGs and the audio preview of the SE gave me hope for it, I also accept the outcome. I only hope the extension or the director cut would correct the editing and more minutes for the deleted scenes the fans asked for.

Guess the next dark romance theme I would like to see is a vampiric genre in the Xinxia world. Japan and Korea had it often in their historical fantasy drama, maybe it's time for C-drama to joined the troupe as well

The funny thing is that, Susu had no clue he was addicted to her beatings

Tantai Jin didn't know that LSS and YXW he knew were the same person. He wanted to revive XW no matter what for 500 years. When he first met LSS, he was stunned that she exactly looked like the goddess statue he had as a child. He wanted to use her as a vessel for XW only to discover that she and XW were the same

Ming Ye didn't share the same face as The Devil god. In the Bo're dreams, he chose Tantai Jin to roleplayed as him because he recognized he was the devil vessel and hope that he would find a way to defeat the previous Devil god after seeing the war.

JiWu in the immortal act is a lot like Xiao Lin compare to the live drama.

Both MY & TTJ were such coldhearted b*stards who deserved what they get in the original story. While MY was continued mopping his sorry life for 10 000 years, at least TTJ tried to make amends for what he had done to Susu after finding her 500 years later.

Guess you have to wait for the manhua to reach the Bo'Re act since it followed the book.

I like JiWu better in the immortal act of the original story. Xiao Lin, on the other hand, was so much better in the live drama than his counterpart with his bromance with Tantai Jin.

When I first read the book, it felt that I am reading the alternative situation with Naraku and Kikyo as the main leads. Tantai Jin was a lot like him in the mortal act and Susu is like a combination of Kikyo & Kagome with her duties and personalities merged together. Like him, he spent most of the time rejecting his feelings towards her until it's too late. At least, Tantai Jin had the guts to chase her and keep her by his side when his obsessions for her grew.

Susu is what Kikyo would have been if she stayed with him to hold him back. Unlike her, she did fall for Tantai Jin despite of everything he had done. Although Susu had thawed his plans many times, she had no clue that he secretly admired her dedications to protect the common people and her rebellious spunks.

The novel by the looks of it. There's very little changes in it but seems to be faithful to the original just like the radio format version

In the live drama, Susu saw that Tantai Jin still loved her as he risked himself protecting her during the tower scene. She felt guilty for the misunderstanding after learning the truth.

In the OG formats, Tantai Jin continued his cruel games with her by playing favorite with Bingchang where he fell for her schemes that destroyed Susu last hope which lead her wanted to leave him. Unlike his counterpart, he spent most in the mortal act denying his feelings for her. It all came down to his decisions in the tower sequence where he was still playing games with Susu. Before she died as Xiwu, she thought he ran to the tower to rescue Bingchang after growing his love thread, not knowing it was her he wanted to rescue. After coming back, Susu was scarred by the ordeal including losing her best friend who was with her since birth. She resolved following the heartless path to forget them including her unwanted feelings for Tantai Jin.

Yeah, Luo Tantai Jin got rid of the annoying traits I despised about his original version and he rightfully deserved what happened in the tower sequence and the aftermath.
