Just finished this drama. Although I find 40 episodes too long, it’s truly enjoyable. Both leads were good looking…
I love all the waterfall scenes... From when ML found her in a pool of blood, to the second and the third when they confront each other as Lu Wen and Huaiyang wang
Is it just me or I didn't really like the last 4 episodes. Whatever happen with Prince Sui could have been written better. Also, LMT as Luwen and all the whole thing was quite watered down. I was a bit disappointed because it seems like everyone thought CXZ choose LMT for her looks. It was commented so many times that I couldn't help but roll my eyes and was like come on.... Can't they reveal who she is excatly and how she was the one that help the current emperor rise to the throne? And how she is one hell of a fighter (cuz they have been harping on how great Lu Wen was to be a match and a headache for CXZ in the beginning) and how she is an equal match for CXZ...... it's disappointing LMT was reduced to being acknowledged she got picked cuz she has a pretty face.....
Upon rewatch, I find ZWY very suitable with the conflicted, agonising look... It's those eyes.. The whole face... With the agony, he is pretty to look at. Lol. Am I the only one? I love the both the waterfall scene the most. The one where he doesn't find out yet, but felt he was losing her. And the one where he knew who she actually is. ZWY convey the emotions so well that you could feel his character's agony and fear that he is losing someone he love.
Also, I find the waterfall scene very meaningful. The 1st time they met, he saw her in a pool of blood and saved her. The 2nd time, he was afraid of losing her. The 3rd time, the agony of knowing who she is, the love he have for her and the desperation and despair knowing she is leaving him.
Are they seriously throwing that cousin Binglan in again? I am annoyed with her and her mother and the whole drama troupe where FL is fighting the ML's whole family for approval and the supposed-engaged someone that whole family had already approved. Oh, and the whole.... ML goes to war alone....
These few episodes of CXZ chasing his wife and trying to coax her back is all good and all... But is anyone also missing the serious, meticulous and cunning CXZ in the earlier episodes (not to say he is not in the later episodes)... LOL.
Also, I rewatch (because 1 episode a day is really killing me)... I have an inkling that CXZ did thought her attractive and is attracted to her at first sight... Later on, it was obvious he thought her very pretty as well.
Their whole relationship was based on a lie so if she doesn’t forgive him instantly just because he saved her…
And some people think just because a person save you out of their own free will, you owe that person you life, your love, your body, your everything. LMAO
She owes nothing??do we watch the same series??ok,lets assume any person except cxz found her , what would have…
Erm, I think it is perspective.. She did agree to become his escort. And finally, she did have a heart to heart conversation with him when they were on the horse. She told him excalty as it is. She acknowledges him, thank him, but they are both on different paths.

I dont think it shows anywhere in the episode that she wants to be with badly (not as bad as CXZ) . Throughout the whole episodes after their waterfall, she has been busy rebuilding business and getting her life back. I would say, she has feelings for him but those feelings are not enough for her to throw everything away to be with him
and she knows that he has duties at the palace and that they can marry him off anyway they want, even if in the…
Yupe. I would have ran too if a person of CXZ is pursuing me. It's just too much trouble. After all that being high in love, and reality sets in, will it be a bed of roses? That is why.... it takes a lot of convincing for LMT (and we all know that convincing is when CXZ literally broke his leg and endangering himself being crippled) that she finally relent - a bit more. 🤣

Right.. I don't get why ppl are bashing LMT.
LMT's case is a classic case of "if you are willing to do something for me, I thank you, I appreciate you, BUT I don't owe you and I sure hell don't owe you my feelings"

Yes. But does being saved and take care of means she HAS to accept him? CXZ saved her with HIS OWN FREE WILL. She did not force him to save her.
This is a case of, if you are willing to do something for me, I will thank you and appreciate you for it. But I don't owe you anything because I did not force you to do it for me.
She reminds me a little of Qiu Yan from The Autumn Ballad.
I didnt watch it. Hahaha. I just thought LMT is refreshing. Finally we have a FL that puts earning money and achieving her ambition is more important than settling down and get married. LOL.
I want to offer my opinion about LMT (because of the amount of ppl bashing her and saying how she is too indifferent and ungrateful with all the attention etc.).
I think it is quite unfair for everyone to be bashing her like this. For starters, she thanked CXZ for saving her life. She ended their fued at the waterfall. While she knows he loves her, and she has feelings for him, she choose to follow her head and not her heart. She probably thinks she is unworthy of all his attention and love, and that they are too far apart in their status to be together, hence she left.
It was CXZ who shamelessly pursue her and did everything he could with his OWN FREE WILL to win her back.
If you put yourself in her situation, she owes CXZ nothing, except that he saved her life (and then lied to her for 2 years). In the previous episode, she mentioned it. She acknowledges his feelings for her, but felt they are two horses on a different path. Him mentioning he can take that step for her perhaps is not enough to convince her.
If I am LMT, I think I would have done the same. Their love (right now, in her eyes) is sincere, but troublesome. Moreover, LMT is a woman of ambition. If she marries him, will she be so free as she is now? I guess this is the first time we see a female character that is "love is not everything".

Loopholes everwhere..

This is the case for LMT.
