Ikr. My recollection was that he sold the flat that he used to live with Lin Shuang by kicking her & their daughter out. He gave a bit of monies to Lin Shuang and then bought a new house under construction. When JiaYi got upset with him ( drunk & talking BS that his wife used to be the smartest at uni, the most beautiful & he got her anyway. He said that she is stayed at home mom, cooking for him & washing his clothes. My blood is boiling, you could see how he treats Lin Shuang like a slave, a nobody right?) beacuse he told JiaYi that his wife is Lin Shuang. She got pissed off, ran away and got pushed by some random guy on the street and heavily pregnant. Her parents were enraged and asked him to sign a prenup agreement which he did so the new properties would go to JiaYi in case of a divorce.

The scumbag Wei Ming lost all of his properties to the new wife Huang JiaYi as her parents forced him to sign a prenup agreement in the event of a divorce to protect their daughter and they don’t trust the scumbag. He thought he was smarter than Lin Shuang but the irony was he met smarter than him in the new in-laws.

Ikr unfortunately, I don’t understand why this Wei Ming needs to get married in the first place. He just needs to stay single and screw around instead of making Lin Shuang and their daughter’s life miserable.

Ikr, the parents and the scumbag have no heart and don’t love Guoguo in my books. When they use a child as bargaining chip then they have no business seeing nor taking care of the child. The three of them will get their karma from Huang Jiayi’s parents who have money and threatened him and treated him the way the 3 of them treat Lin Shuang. I despise these 3 LOL.

Just a card with her photo at the front if I am not mistaken and the card was alluding to that sometimes you are trying to take another path to avoid the unavoidable in life but you still have to go through that struggle in spite of that and will come out of it better.

I think it is Huang JiaYi, the new wife with her wise words.

Yes, he gets investigated by his own company & police for his dirty dealings with regards to insider dealing, bribery. He goes to prison and loose everything all his properties to the wife. Huang JiaYi ( the new wife) parents forced him to sign a prenup agreement to protect their own daughter. When JiangXi gave a video to the company showing his dirty business, he went to ask his father in-law and Huang JiaYi which they both rejected. He then turned violent towards Huang JiaYi, she then ran away which resulted in her giving birth earlier than expected. She then decided to divorce him which means that all of his properties go to her. His disgusting parents get nothing since they having been living off him and they regretted that their son divorced Lin Shuang for Huang JianYi. Well, such is life when you do harm to people you just have to receive it back.

He did a good job as an actor but I do despise his character.

I forgot to mention that he is also a woman’s beater. He abused Lin Shuang mentally & physically. He did the same to physically manhandle Jiang Xi and also his pregnant new wife. I have been telling my daughters to never ever allow any man to lay his hands on them.

This biatch still tries to take revenge against Lin Shuang & Jiang Xi as she found out through his daughter that they are both friends. Lin Shuang set up her own company and is working on a project that is selling the algorithm to his company but needed data to run her algorithm. Jiang Xi wanted to help Lin Shuang by taking the data of the company and gave it to Lin Shuang so that can fast track her work. The scumbag saw it coming and and tricked Jiang Xi by swapping the data with wrong data. During a presentation of the product, Lin Shuang got exposed by the wrong data and the scumbag took the opportunity to use her algorithm but go with another company. He was so content that he killed the career of both Lin Shuang & Jiang Xi. GU Xu & the old rich lady at the art galaxy came to her rescue by investing in her improved project. Even Huang Jayi thought that his actions against Lin Shuang were mean and low but nope he said to her that they both deserve it and he never thought of the things he did to others. I am sorry it is just a drama but I do not find the actor attractive at all. He is a good actor but boy he played some similar role but less scumbag in another drama with Yang Mi ( She and her perfect husband).

The ML has always been a narcissist, controlling cheater and scumbag as he thinks that Lin Shuang is a little compliant stayed at home pet for him and his disgusting parents. Having said that, things start to go paired shape for him in episode 21 when he abruptly abused Lin Shuang and requested a divorce with her at the hospital when he openly cheated on his wife with Huang Jia Yi when in fact his daughter fell down because she was trying to run after him when he was having an affair with another woman in a shopping mall. He feels emboldened by his success at work after being promoted ( by cheating and stabbing people in the back) and decides that Lin Shuang is a nobody to him and that he deserves a younger and wealthier woman. From episode 34, it will be a no return for him but yet he is still denying that he has done nothing wrong. In episode 35, he begged his new father in-law and his new wife Huang Jayi to come to his rescue but the man is so shameless he still thinks he an angel. He goes to prison in episode 36.

Having lived in HK over a decade where the law is different from the mainland but I used to travel to the mainland quite often for work or holidays. I am not an expert in divorce law but my understanding is that after the divorce, children could be brought up by either party and there is no set rules because the Chinese or any Asians for that matter believe that even after the divorce, it is the parents obligations to take care and raise their children in an appropriate manner (I.e giving the children the means to live and pay for their education). Now sometimes, you have extreme cases like the one we are watching. That being said, the amount and term of payment need to be agreed by both parties. If no agreement is achieved then this will be decided by the people’s court.

In terms of jointly owned property, if there is no agreement between the parties and the people’s court decides. Subject to the actual circumstances of the property, the court tends to favour the children and the wife. For any Chinese from the mainland, please do feel free to correct me.

I forgot to mention that after she manages to divorce the scumbag ex for good, Gu Xu has helped her so much running her house, taking care of Guoguo like she is his own daughter. That is the testament of his love for her. When Jiang Xi told him that she has noticed that he has been in love with Lin Shuang for years and he doesn’t even dare to tell her. GU Xu was like well I just want her to succeed, be content with what she achieves and that would make him happy. I love Jiang Xi, she gave him a little push by suggesting to him to express his love for Lin Shuang and not leave Lin Shang to be with another scumbag like Ming Wei. I think he is a geek and does not know how to show his feelings for her at the beginning, hence the misunderstanding. When she has seen the things that GX has done for her & Guoguo, she even told him that he is really kind and why did she not realise that before. He started saying to her then would you consider me as an option but then his words were cut off by the noise of road traffic. I could see that it is boiling inside him and he loves her but scared of being rejected. I feel bad for both of them with LS just had a bad marriage and the fear of jumping to another relationship with GX which could end up being another failure like the one she just had. GX is scared of being rejected, sigh 😞. They managed to move their relationship to next level but what a rollercoaster they have been embarking on.

Exactly my thoughts, if my in-laws were to do that to me, I would not be so patient and so kind to them. Unbelievable, they treat her like a slave when they turn up at her house unannounced and ordered her around. No wonder, they raise up a cheater and scumbag of a son. I’m sorry but the audacity of them accusing her for the things that their own son is doing to Lin Shuang. Then, they kidnapped their own grand daughter to use Guoguo as bargain chip is absolutely disgusting. The ML & his parents deserve each other and their own downfall. Unfortunately, these things still occur in our society, sigh 😞.

Please do give me your thoughts. I cried a few times when the ex and his disgusting parents tried to use their daughter Guoguo as a bargaining chip. I do think the ML/her ex is an arrogant, narcissist and selfish person. To me him and his parents do not love Guoguo, how could they kidnap Guoguo and use the little one against Lin Shuang. Of course, every mother would do anything for their own child. Towards the end, he was kind of regretting of destroying his family, his own daughter’s life to just climb up the social ladder. He himself got rejected by the family of the new wife and she also wants to divorce him. Well, he has his own karma as well as the greedy parents. It is funny how he gets the taste of his own medicine through his rich wife’s family. They consider him no more than dirt the same way he treated Lin Shuang.

I am also a working mother and I agree with you partly on Gu XY’s negative comments an no woman should tolerate that kind of negativity. I think he misunderstands her will and circumstances. He may have not moved on from his younger years when she had always surpassing him in all aspects and has failed to understand that sometimes the woman that he admires so much and fell in love with is put in a position where she had to give up her own career to care for her own child. Unfortunately, most women have to make enormous sacrifices for their own children depending on the circumstances if you ask me. I think in episode 8 or 9 when they had an argument in the park when she confronted him about him looking down on her, turning her down on the position at his company and she told him about her own sacrifices, her circumstances where she had to do it or no one would help her. You could see then his regrets for being too harsh on her but at the same time gave her a reality check that she needs to be prepared to a come back. I understand that the truth hurts but at the same time our boss are not always understanding. After this incident, he has asked his staff to contact her and gave her chances to brush off her knowledge at courses at university. Silently, he has been supporting her and when he has realised what a scumbag/cheater her husband is, he has given the opportunity to join his company. He has also asked Jiang Xi about her relationship with Lin Shuang and when Jiang Xi told him that she used to be with Lin Shuang’s husband mistress, you could see the shock and regrets in his eyes. From then on, he has helped her all along with cutie daughter Guoguo, her house, business so as to give her the freedom to do her job well. I would suggest you to carry on watching the dramas as it is very satisfying to see their love and support for each other and of course the scumbag of ex husband to get his own karma.

I think around ep 11 when Jiang Xi realised that the ML was a F scumbag. He had no regards for women and was using her or Lin Shuang for his own personal gains/ambitions.
