The Du siblings are trying to set LJQ marry her. When the plan didn’t work out, they came up with the plague illness with Miss Du poisoning the water in Lin’s residence. This leads to the pandemic around the Lin’s mansion which resulted in the closure of their residence. XLX has noticed some strange things around the pandemic so she wants to test the water & has found out that Miss du used a rare poison to poison the water & then take over the lin’s with the help of her brother. I don’t know all the details but she was playing the victim card by taking the poison herself & managed to run away with the outlaws. He brother also betrayed LJQ in the battlefield but was wounded but died later.

I fear that both siblings Miss Du & her brother are the villains in the upcoming episodes from what I have seen on videos from Chinese fans.

It may not be the plague but Miss Du that poisoned the water being used at the Lin’s residence. I fear that she’s trying to force LJQ to marry her so she’s trying to get information on XLX through her friend.

@minki4 in next few episodes, the sister poisoned the water in the Lin’s residence & created some kind of chicken pox illnesses given that she is specialised in herbal medicines. FL was quick assessing her out & has decided to boil the water & managed to expose her if I am not mistaken.

I fear that the siblings are up to no good & force the marriage on to LJQ. I saw a video of hers on XHX saying that “she has to get married at the of the day so why not marrying someone rich”. There was another video showing the brother trying to kill LJQ & she was trying to kill XLX.

I think XLX is her survival mode, working hard to get more money & free her & adoptive parents from slavery. She may still have to be cautious with LJQ given that he called their engagement off & hide her real identity until she has all the evidence to clear her family’s name. Someone on XHS said that LJQ only found out about her real identity after they got married & had a child in the novel so she may not have the same interests in him for a while.

I find it quite interesting to watch the life of both XLX & ZXT who are both born in wealthy families. Despite the fall from grace of her Shen’s family, ZLX grew up in kind hearted family that taught her values, kindness towards the weakest so she’s always trying to help others even though some weren’t kind to her from the beginning. In contrast, ZXT grew up in a family that did not value women, arranged her marriage to LJQ to cover up her pregnancy to the cousin. Her mum did not even have the courage to stand up for her own daughter so ZXT is only interested in money & thinks this is the only way for her to get her freedom. She was mean, ruthless to those beneath her & the grass divination played by XLX with the scholar was the reminder of not only LJQ needs to be kind, treat his servants fairly as karma can bite anyone anytime.

Agreed, as mentioned above, her grandfather told her off for falling asleep when he was trying to teach her the divination technique that the scholar was dying to learn from him & he chose not to teach him.

I was thinking about that as well. Didn’t her grandfather said to her that the scholar was dying for him to teach that game & here he’s trying to teach her so that she could play against her peers but instead she doze off?

Same here, I have family members that are suffering from severe depression & have attempted a few times. I found myself in Emergency room trying to support. It’s quite hard. A good friend of mine tried as well even though she has 2 young beautiful daughters but luckily she gets a bit better with therapy. It’s quite hard & I feel that I am useless as I am not able to help but just be there in these difficult times.
