My blood is boiling watching this drama. They had been very very cruel indeed invading nearly the whole Asia & killing millions of Chinese, Koreans, Viets, Malaysians, Indonesians, Burmese, Filipinos to name a few. My family witnessed them chopping people’s heads off or bayoneting civilians just for stealing rice as they were starving due the destruction of rice crops by the imperial army. I must say I had to skip the scenes when they destroyed Macau financial markets just thinking about what my family told me. The worst part is many Japanese never learnt about their ancestors war crimes & often denied or just stated that it was normal that horrors occurred in wars. When you don’t learn about your history then how can you ensure that you won’t make the same mistake?

I’ve managed to watch up to the latest episodes. Thanks very much the recommendation. Episode 9 was quite emotional .

I saw some spoilers & not sure if it is true but the ML will die at the end. When he decided to jump at the second prince’s mother funeral, someone from that sect picked him up from the fall & brought him back to their retreat. He will recognise his mum who became the empress of the sect. His mum will also remember of him as her son. She tries to cure him get rid of the cold poison but he refuses as it will kill her so he decides to accept his fate.

Exactly, what baby? We didn’t get to watch any reconciliation, nor tender moments between ML & FL & poof out of the blue, FL gets pregnant & Xiao Ying was the cause of FL’s miscarriage. It was badly written by the script writers.

Agreed, the storyline is getting better and it is such a shame that script writers did a bad job at the beginning.

I know she is sick but she uses her illness to harm people and it is a red flag for both the mother & brother. They just kept denying that she could be insane when she is upset. I agree with you that she only wants to hear the insincere words from others. I felt really bad for that little boy whom she stole the candy stick from & ate it all. I hope commander Li survives. There are too many villains in this drama so I’m not quite sure how we are going to have a HE.

Yes, like her brother said that she was raised in a home where nobody taught the right from wrong so she just steamrolled everyone even her helpers. The mother & the brother should have stopped her long ago from harming people.

The script writers are bad.

I feel the same, I felt so bored with the relationship between the half brother, the prince & the evil empress dowager, the prince with LCC’s friend.
