I prefer that they focus on the collective works between the characters to help people in Macau have a better life & help the resistance on the mainland. In the spoilers of next episodes, Sawa managed to kill his father as he was opening a package with explosives mechanism prepared by Sawa & delivered by one of his men. XH mentioned about the death of his father so I hope the explosion did not kill his daughter & wife in the process.

I understand from Chinese social platforms that the fans are debating whether the writers may introduce the love between He Xian & Qiao YinWen at the end & his wife will take a back seat by only focusing on her children. In real life, the character HX has 5 wives & Qiao Yiwen is one of the 5 wives.

He killed himself unfortunately after he negotiated with the Japanese general to release his sister & told her about where he hid the money printing machines.

He jumped out of the window to kill himself so that the Japanese cannot torture him anymore for the whereabouts of the money printing machines. He did tell his sister where he hid these money printing machines though. He Xian & colleagues managed to get them out of HK to Macau by boats.

Yes 2 today & hope there will be some this weekend.

I felt bad for Mary with the betrayal of her hubby. I knew from the start that her hubby is sneaky & not trustworthy guy when he asked her in the first episodes to help him lie to her uncle & frame Chang Yang for his own scams. Poor her, she is much stronger mentally than her hubby. It was heart wrenching to watch Chang Yang helplessly watching her getting shot. She may still survive who knows?

I love it so far. I get so stressed out with it all LOL, the tension level is off the chart, the writing is good, the pace, conversations between characters & acting are perfect to me. How about you?

Qiao RenYu ( big brother) & Qiao YinWen ( little sister) are blood siblings if I am not mistaken. Yiwen said several times to He Xian that it was her big brother RenYu who took care of her when they lost their parents.

Exactly, gold is king during wars time. My family has always kept gold to buy & trade houses, land or food by using gold during wars, uprising, regime changes when new governments tend to abolish old notes & print new notes with nothing to back this printing. Well, Soros managed to destroy the GBP, and most Asian currencies Thai Bath, S Korean Won, Indonesian & Malaysian currencies in 1997 during the Asian financial crisis. Soros & his goon Scott Bessent tried to attack the HKD in 1997 but failed miserably because the then financial governor of HK was a former executive of PBoC decided with the help of the mainland to defend the HKD.

HX should have told Qiao YW the truth about her brother when there was a scene when she was in her building terrace talking to that little girl. I feel bad for Ms Qiao, she may hate HX if something bad happens to her brother. She may feel that she was being used by HX to expose her brother for being a traitor & not being able to give her brother a proper farewell. Poor her, I hope the brother survives.

My blood is boiling watching this drama. They had been very very cruel indeed invading nearly the whole Asia & killing millions of Chinese, Koreans, Viets, Malaysians, Indonesians, Burmese, Filipinos to name a few. My family witnessed them chopping people’s heads off or bayoneting civilians just for stealing rice as they were starving due the destruction of rice crops by the imperial army. I must say I had to skip the scenes when they destroyed Macau financial markets just thinking about what my family told me. The worst part is many Japanese never learnt about their ancestors war crimes & often denied or just stated that it was normal that horrors occurred in wars. When you don’t learn about your history then how can you ensure that you won’t make the same mistake?

I’ve managed to watch up to the latest episodes. Thanks very much the recommendation. Episode 9 was quite emotional .
