I just googled Ma Wanqi’s real name is Ma Man Kei. Ke Lin was also real in this true story. Ho Yin aka He Xian, Ma Man Kei (Ma Wanqi) & Ke Lin were involved in the fight against Japanese blockades of Macau & sent vital supplies and funds to the front lines of the Chinese forces fighting the Japanese invasion. That is real story & history for me to learn. I really enjoy this drama.

Yes, this drama is based on true story. I understand that not all of support characters are part of the story.

I forgot to mention that Wanqi continued to do business after the war & was part of people who helped Portugal handed over Macau smoothly in 1999 to China which is true. Macau has never really caused any trouble for China & continues to prosper. I love Macau as I used to go there often by ferry from HK.

From wilkepedia, Wanqi passed away in 2014.

I don’t know to be honest as it is just fans discussion. I prefer that they focus on the collective works between the characters to help people in Macau have a better life & help the resistance on the mainland. In the spoilers of next episodes, Sawa managed to kill his father as he was opening a package with explosives mechanism prepared by Sawa & delivered by one of his men. XH mentioned about the death of his father so I hope the explosion did not kill his daughter & wife in the process.

I understand from Chinese social platforms that the fans are debating whether the writers may introduce the love between He Xian & Qiao YinWen at the end & his wife will take a back seat by only focusing on her children. In real life, the character HX has 5 wives & Qiao Yiwen is one of the 5 wives.

Agreed, I’m so stressed out that I have to pause sometimes.

He killed himself unfortunately after he negotiated with the Japanese general to release his sister & told her about where he hid the money printing machines.

He jumped out of the window to kill himself so that the Japanese cannot torture him anymore for the whereabouts of the money printing machines. He did tell his sister where he hid these money printing machines though. He Xian & colleagues managed to get them out of HK to Macau by boats.

I felt bad for Mary with the betrayal of her hubby. I knew from the start that her hubby is sneaky & not trustworthy guy when he asked her in the first episodes to help him lie to her uncle & frame Chang Yang for his own scams. Poor her, she is much stronger mentally than her hubby. It was heart wrenching to watch Chang Yang helplessly watching her getting shot. She may still survive who knows?

I love it so far. I get so stressed out with it all LOL, the tension level is off the chart, the writing is good, the pace, conversations between characters & acting are perfect to me. How about you?

Qiao RenYu ( big brother) & Qiao YinWen ( little sister) are blood siblings if I am not mistaken. Yiwen said several times to He Xian that it was her big brother RenYu who took care of her when they lost their parents.

Well, Soros managed to destroy the GBP, and most Asian currencies Thai Bath, S Korean Won, Indonesian & Malaysian currencies in 1997 during the Asian financial crisis. HX should have told Qiao YW the truth about her brother when there was a scene when she was in her building terrace talking to that little girl. I feel bad for Ms Qiao, she may hate HX if something bad happens to her brother. She may feel that she was being used by HX to expose her brother for being a traitor & not being able to give her brother a proper farewell. Poor her, I hope the brother survives.
